Job Description

The Test Engineer will be responsible for testing and validating automotive lighting systems. This involves developing and executing test plans, conducting functional, environmental, and durability tests, and performing optical measurements. The engineer will analyze test data, generate reports, and collaborate with design teams, suppliers, and testing laboratories. They must ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations and stay updated with emerging technologies. The role also includes implementing best practices, conducting root-cause analysis, and suggesting improvements. This requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex projects within tight timelines.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the testing and validation of automotive lighting systems. This role requires a deep understanding of automotive lighting technologies, testing methodologies, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality and compliance with industry standards.

Role
Testing and Validation:
Develop and execute test plans for automotive lighting systems to ensure they meet design specifications and performance criteria.
Conduct functional, environmental, and durability testing of lighting components and systems.
Perform optical measurements and photometric testing to validate lighting performance.
Analyze test data and generate detailed test reports.
Work with multiple external lab partners to setup, execute, and monitor testing
Define test requirements for different optical components
Ensure all testing activities are documented and adhere to quality management systems and regulatory requirements.
Support with lessons learn and DFMEA activities.

Collaboration and Integration:
Work closely with design and development teams to ensure seamless integration of lighting systems into vehicles.
Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on testability and validation requirements.
Collaborate with suppliers and external testing laboratories to coordinate testing activities.

Compliance and Standards:
Ensure that automotive lighting systems comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
Stay up to date with emerging technologies, trends, and regulatory changes in automotive lighting.
Conduct root-cause analysis and resolve issues encountered during testing and validation.

Innovation and Best Practices:
Implement best practices in testing and validation processes.
Perform benchmark studies to identify alternative testing solutions and improve existing processes.

Qualifications:
Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of experience in testing and validation of automotive lighting systems.
Proven expertise in developing and executing test plans for automotive lighting.
In-depth knowledge of automotive lighting technologies and testing methodologies.
Experience with optical measurement equipment and photometric testing.

Skills:
Strong understanding of automotive lighting standards and regulations.
Proficiency in data analysis and test report generation.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage complex testing projects with tight timelines and budget constraints.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
A Master's degree in Engineering is preferred.

 

Salary Range: $80,000 95,000

The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
