Job Description

The Test Equipment Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and supporting test equipment hardware platforms used for testing Enterprise, Data Center, and Hyperscale product lines. This includes maintaining Advantest 93K and Teradyne Uflex testers and related hardware, as well as ATC Hontech, ATC Cohu, Seiko Epson, and Chroma handlers. The role involves diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment issues, performing hardware and software upgrades, working with vendors, and training technicians. The engineer will contribute to improving Marvell’s test floor environment and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Additionally, the position requires the ability to diagnose, evaluate, and come up with solutions for equipment-related software or hardware issues, relaying that information to equipment vendors and assisting in performing calibration and preventative maintenance as needed.
Must have:
  • Maintain operational readiness of test equipment such as Advantest 93K and Teradyne Uflex.
  • Maintain operational readiness of ATC Hontech, ATC Cohu, Seiko Epson and Chroma handlers.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software related issues.
Good to have:
  • Experience with Semics Opus 3 and TEL Precio Wafer Prober equipment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Linux operating and networking skills

Marvell utilizes a range of test equipment hardware platforms to develop and test the various Enterprise, Data Center and Hyperscale product lines. The Test Operations Support Group is tasked with the install and maintaining of these test platforms as well as other support equipment. The team also provides technical support to our test, product and production teams.

What You Can Expect

  • Responsible for maintaining operational readiness Advantest 93K and Teradyne Uflex testers and related hardware (Boards Sockets device kits).

  • Responsible for maintaining operational readiness of our ATC Hontech, ATC Cohu, Seiko Epson and Chroma handlers.

  • Work with the Field Service Engineers from the various manufactures to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair the handlers and prober systems.

  • Perform hardware and software upgrades as needed.

  • Help to input and track request for new hardware request form the Product, Test and Production teams.

  • Work with vendors to obtain quotes for replace and spare parts.

  • Work with other team members to resolve test equipment issues.

  • Diagnose, evaluate and come up with a solution for equipment in regard to software or hardware related issues and relay that information to our equipment vendors.

  • Assist in performing calibration and Preventive Maintenance as needed.

  • Qualifying new hardware kits.

  • Responsible for training technicians on various shift to help maintain and setup test equipment (handlers and testers) and working with vendors on training classes for the teams.

  • Work to help drive future improvements to Marvell’s Test floor environment.

  • Must be willing to work in a multi-tasking, fast pace, team-oriented working environment.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related fields. 1-3 years of related professional experience preferred.

  • Experience with Advantest 93K testers and Teradyne Uflex test system preferred.

  • Experience on the various pick and place Active Temperature Control handling equipment Hontech 1028C/CH, Cohu Eclipse preferred.

  • Experience on the various pick and place handling equipment (Ambient, Hot and Cold) and SLT handling equipment Seiko Epson 7000/8000 series, Chroma 3260/3110 preferred.

  • Experience on Semics Opus 3 and TEL Precio Wafer Prober equipment preferred.

  • Basic understanding and able to identify various types of electro-mechanical systems.

  • Basic PC skills with Microsoft office suite.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Linux operating and networking skills and inventory control systems is a plus.

Expected Base Pay Range (USD)

38 - 57, $ per hour.

The successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions. The expected base pay range for this role may be modified based on market conditions.
