Job Description

Haven Studios seeks experienced QA Testers to join their team in Montreal. Responsibilities include designing and implementing comprehensive test plans, executing manual and automated tests, identifying and documenting bugs, collaborating with developers, contributing to QA process improvement, and performance testing. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of DevQA experience in a video game studio, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and strong knowledge of video game production pipelines. The position is hybrid, requiring regular studio presence.

Poste - Testeur·euse QA de développement

Nous recherchons plusieurs testeur·euse QA expérimenté·e pour se joindre à notre équipe. Vous travaillerez en étroite collaboration avec le·a responsable QA et les Producteur·trices afin de définir et d'exécuter notre stratégie QA. Vous serez impliqué·e dans la création de plans de test, de cas de test et dans l'exécution des tests.  Nous comptons sur votre capacité à gérer des demandes multiples et sur votre efficacité à coopérer avec des équipes pluridisciplinaires. En tant que pionnier·ère de notre équipe interne de QA, vous mettrez à profit vos solides compétences en matière de suivi pour aligner notre équipe de développement sur les problèmes qui doivent être résolus. Chez Haven, nous croyons fermement aux tests automatisés ; à ce titre, vous aurez l'occasion de suggérer et d'améliorer les procédures, les outils et les processus d'automatisation afin d'aider à consolider notre pipeline d'assurance qualité.

Ce poste est hybride, avec une présence régulière en studio, rendant ainsi ce poste disponible pour les personnes de la ville de Montréal ou des environs.

Reporting

Le·a Testeur·euse QA relèvera du·de la Responsable QA et travaillera en étroite collaboration avec les différents producteur·trices de technologie et de contenu.


 

Responsabilités et fonctions

  • Concevoir, mettre en œuvre et maintenir des plans de test et des cas de test complets;

  • Exécuter des tests manuels et automatisés sur divers systèmes et fonctionnalités de jeu;

  • Identifier, reproduire et documenter les bogues et les problèmes dans la base de données;

  • Collaborer avec les développeurs pour comprendre et résoudre les problèmes complexes;

  • Fournir des commentaires du point de vue de l'assurance qualité lors de réunion d’équipe

  • Contribuer au développement et à l'amélioration des processus et des outils d'assurance qualité;

  • Aider aux tests et à l'optimisation des performances;

  • Restez à jour avec les tendances de l'industrie et les meilleures pratiques en matière d'assurance qualité des jeux;

  • Communiquer un rapport d'état à jour sur la stabilité du jeu aux membres de l'équipe;

  • Soutenir l'équipe de développement pour atteindre les niveaux de qualité ciblés.

  • Poste hybride avec présence en studio pour le soutien de la production.


 

Qualifications recherchées

Testeur de développement avec grande expérience

  • Expérience sur PC et consoles

  • Plus de 5 ans d'expérience en tests comme DevQA dans un studio de jeux vidéo ;

  • Excellentes compétences en communication et en résolution de problèmes ;

  • Grande connaissance du pipeline et des outils de production de jeux vidéo ;

  • Expérience démontrée dans l’élaboration de plans de test, de rapports de test et de documentation de haute qualité.

  • Bilingue français/anglais (écrit et parlé)

  • Expérience passée dans les équipes de développements suivantes L

    • Mode de jeu

    • Progression et transaction

Qualifications souhaitées

  • Expérience de travail sur des jeux live/GaaS.

  • Expérience dans les jeux de type “extraction shooter”

  • Connaissance des outils de gestion des tests. (Xray est un atout)

  • Une expérience des tests dans Unreal Engine 5 est un plus.

  • L'expérience des tests d'automatisation est un plus.

Our goal was to build a studio where we could make the kind of games we’ve always wanted to create – and games we’ve longed to play. Haven joined the PlayStation Studios family in 2022, and we are on track to build an exclusive new IP for Playstation; a AAA multiplayer experience with a vision to build a systemic and evolving world focused on freedom, thrill, and playfulness that will keep players entertained and engaged for years and grow the first Sony game development team in Canada. 

We are looking for multiple High experienced Video game DevQA to join the Haven Interactive Studios project team. Working closely with the QA project manager and the different team producers, you will help deploy our QA strategy as well as build and manage test plan, test case and test execution. As a member of our internal QA team, we need someone who can handle multiple tasks at the same time, as well as being able to cooperate in multi-disciplinary teams. Communication and cooperation are key to this position, as you will need to follow-up with multiple tech  and dev teams on the issues that need to be tested.  

At Haven, we strongly believe in automated testing; as such, you will have the opportunity to suggest and improve procedures, processes, tools  and automation processes to help solidify our QA pipeline. This position is Hybrid, with regular studio presence, thus making this position available for people in or around the city of Montreal.  

Reporting

The Development QA tester will report to the QA project manager and will work closely with the different tech and content producers.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases;

  • Execute manual and automated tests across various game systems and features;

  • Identify, reproduce, and document bugs and issues in our tracking system;

  • Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues;

  • Provide feedback from a QA perspective in production meetings;

  • Contribute to the development and improvement of QA processes and tools;

  • Assist in performance testing and optimization;

  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in game QA;

  • Communicate up-to-date status report for the game stability to the members of the team;

  • Support the development team in reaching targeted levels of quality;

We are looking for High experienced Video game DevQA
 

  • Console and PC video games experience; 

  • 5+ years of DevQA testing experience in a video game studio;

  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills;

  • Great knowledge of video games production pipeline and tools;

  • Demonstrated experience developing high-quality test plans, test reports and documentation;

  • Demonstrated experience working directly with a production team; 

  • Past experience in the following DevTeams

    • Game mode

    • Player progression and transactions

  • Bilingual French / English (written and spoken)

  • Hybrid position with studio presence for support of the production floor.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience testing with Unreal 5 is a plus;

  • Experience working on a live/Gaas game;

  • Experience in extraction shooter;

  • Experience with automation testing is a plus;

  • Knowledge of Jira + Xray test management tools;
