Job Description

The Tool Crib Attendant will supervise and coordinate the activities of workers involved in ordering, receiving, storing, inventorying, issuing, and shipping materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts. Responsibilities include planning the layout of storage areas, advising employees on the care and preservation of items, recommending actions for slow-moving stock, and reviewing records for accuracy. The job requires a high school diploma and knowledge of relevant software. This role is with a company committed to diversity and inclusion, valuing different backgrounds and perspectives.
Must have:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be certified to operate a forklift.
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing software.

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers concerned with ordering, receiving, storing, inventorying, issuing, and shipping materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts, in stockroom, warehouse, or yard by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Plans layout of stockroom, warehouse, and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored.

Advises employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock; and related problems.

Studies records and recommends remedial actions for reported non usable, slow moving, and excess stock.

Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures, and to determine adequacy of stock levels.

Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.

Certifications: Must be certified to operate fork truck by YT, also always demonstrate safe operating practices of all mobile equipment.

Education and/or Experience                                      

High school diploma or general education degree (GED);

Language Skills                                                

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information one-on-one.

Mathematical Skills                                         

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages

Reasoning Ability                                             

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills                                               

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Manufacturing software, Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

The hourly rate for this role is in the range of $21.00 - $26.00 per hour.

The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
