Join Aptiv as a Tooling Engineer and contribute to cutting-edge automotive applications, developing breakthrough technologies and innovative solutions for leading automotive brands. You will be responsible for product and process changes, classical tool design, engineering, cross-functional coordination, documentation, problem resolution, and manufacturing improvements impacting quality, cost, and delivery. Your daily tasks involve coordinating tool design and build projects, ensuring a safe work environment, complying with ISO and IATF standards, facilitating project meetings for cross-functional involvement, providing engineering documentation for APQP requirements, participating in quote processes for new tools and repairs, and monitoring tool build progress for on-time delivery. You will also lead tool design, build, equipment requirements, and related support activities.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing
  • Advanced English level
  • +3 years of experience in manufacturing
  • Experience in tooling and crimp
  • MS Office proficiency

YOUR ROLE

As Tooling Engineer on our team, you will: Projects range from product and process changes to the development of new product and processes for manufacture through release to production.  This includes but is not limited to classical tool design activities, engineering, cross-functional coordination, instruction, documentation, problem resolution and manufacturing improvements which impact quality, cost and delivery.  

In your daily job you will:

  • Coordination of tool design & build projects to meet customer quality, cost and delivery requirements as directed by the Program Manager.2.Guarantor of safe work environment   (1.3.4.11.2.7 EOS Manual)

  • Complying with norms  ISO45001, ISO14001 and ISO 50001 3. Compliance with the procedures and requirements of the IATF16949 standards according to the job position.

  • Coordinates and facilitates project meetings to insure cross-functional involvement, teamwork concept and communication. 2. Coordinates tool activities necessary to maintain program timing and parallel project activities.

  • Provides necessary engineering documentation to execute all tool related APQP requirements are met.

  • Participate in quote process, new tools and repairs/refurbishment's communicate design standards insure tool build within budget.

  • Participate in sampling process. Insure proper tool function. 6. Monitors tool build progress to insure on time delivery.

  • Performs lead role in tool design requirements, build & construction requirements, tool equipment requirements and related support and processing activities.

YOUR BACKGROUND

Key skills and competencies for succeeding in this role are:

  • Bachelors' degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing related

  • English level advanced

  • +3 years of experience in areas of manufacturing

  • Experience in areas of tooling and crimp (must)

  • MS Office
