Tesla's Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg seeks a Tooling Technician (m/f/d) for preventive maintenance, servicing, and repair of injection and die casting molds. Responsibilities include cleaning and repairing tools, conducting repairs directly on die casting machines, fitting spare parts, eliminating leaks, preparing tools for setup, maintaining spare parts lists, identifying and implementing quality improvement systems, assisting in FMEA development, and supporting die casting tool setup. The role requires vocational training as a tool mechanic (preferably in mold technology) and several years of experience in die casting tool or injection mold maintenance/repair. Shift work is required.
Must have:
  • Completed vocational training as a tool mechanic
  • Several years of experience in die casting tool maintenance/repair
  • Proficient in tool cleaning, repair, and spare parts fitting
  • Ability to eliminate mold and hydraulic leaks
  • Experience with FMEA development and implementation
Good to have:
  • Welding certificate
  • Experience with 100t crane operation
  • Fluency in English or German
  • Proficiency in MS Office

As a Tooling Technician (m/f/d) you are responsible for carrying out preventive maintenance, servicing and repair work on injection molds or die casting molds. Your area of operation is the foundry and the injection molding shop.
What You’ll Do
  • You clean and repair tools in compliance with the schedule
  • You carry out repairs directly in the die casting machine
  • You carry out professional fitting of spare parts for the tools
  • You eliminate leaks on the mold side and hydraulic leaks
  • You prepare production tools for the set-up process
  • You maintain spare parts lists and ensure that parts are set up and in stock before production starts
  • You identify and implement systems to achieve consistent casting quality improvement
  • You will assist in the development of FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) for production tooling to identify risks and develop appropriate control plans
  • You will work and support the set-up of die casting tools with a 100t crane
What You’ll Bring
  • You have completed vocational training as a tool mechanic (m/f/d), preferably in mold technology or have a comparable qualification
  • You have several years of experience in the manufacture, maintenance, modification or repair of die casting tools or injection molds
  • You have additional certificates such as a welding certificate
  • You bring a hands-on mentality, as well as the willingness to work shifts in a 4-shift system
  • You have a good command of common MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) 
  • You are fluent in English or/and German
