As a Trust & Safety Sensitive Content Specialist, you will enforce rules and remove content that could harm users, the brand, and third parties. You will make judgment calls about content violating Vimeo’s community guidelines, especially those related to the exploitation of minors, terror or hate groups, and/or unlawful acts of real world violence. The role involves moderating video and platform content, investigating escalations, providing guidance on legal and law enforcement requests, and handling user communications. You will conduct investigations to remediate cases involving children or graphic violence and develop protocols. The role requires a high level of autonomy.
Must have:
  • Proficiency with English (written and oral)
  • Great instincts for how to represent Vimeo publicly
  • Strong and clear communicator
  • Strong ability to prioritize incoming issues
  • Prior experience in a content moderation or Trust & Safety role
Good to have:
  • Analytical ability or experience a plus

Job Details

As a Trust & Safety Sensitive Content Specialist, you will help enforce our rules and remove content that could harm our users, our brand, and third parties. You will make judgment calls about whether content breaks Vimeo’s community guidelines and policies specific to the exploitation of minors, terror or hate groups, and/or unlawful acts of real world violence. You aren’t afraid of making tough calls, and you have a genuine passion for online safety issues on the internet. 

This role will be exposed to sensitive or disturbing content. 

What you’ll do:

  • Moderate video, platform content, and account behavior to ensure compliance with Vimeo’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines
  • Investigate and action high-sensitivity escalations spanning abuse areas
  • Provide guidance on complex legal questions and law enforcement requests
  • Field and reply to sensitive and/or escalated user communications
  • Conduct meticulous investigations to identify and remediate complicated cases involving children or graphic violence
  • Hone expertise in highly sensitive and nuanced workflows through research and first hand experience
  • Operate with a high level of autonomy, accountability, and confidence, providing feedback and guidance as needed to more junior roles
  • Develop and reassess escalation protocols
  • Work with engineering or other technical teams to implement new tooling feature requests and report tooling bugs
  • Create guidelines and workflows based on evolving user needs

Skills and knowledge you should possess:

  • Proficiency with English (both written and oral)
  • Great instincts for how to represent Vimeo publicly
  • Strong and clear communicator (especially across team lines)
  • Strong ability to prioritize incoming issues in a fast paced environment
  • Prior experience in a content moderation or Trust & Safety role 
  • Analytical ability or experience a plus
