Job Description
As the first full-time UI Designer at Mashgin, you will elevate the user experience across various products, including kiosks, internal services, and cloud platforms. You will shape a cohesive design language, bring new product ideas to life, and work closely with founders, product managers, and engineers to create intuitive and visually compelling interfaces. Responsibilities include leading the creation of design systems, UI components, and interaction patterns; translating complex features into user-friendly interfaces; and sharing design best practices. You will also need to work with software/hardware teams and confirm your designs translate beautifully into code.
Must have:
- 5+ years of relevant design experience
- Strong portfolio showcasing design skills
- Proficient in Figma and Photoshop
- Deep knowledge of UI patterns and principles
- Experience designing for production applications
- Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate design decisions
Good to have:
- Background in designing interfaces across multiple devices
- Familiarity with design systems and component libraries
- Basic CSS coding ability
- Ability to quickly prototype concepts
- Experience in fast-paced environments

Position Summary
We’re looking for our first full-time UI Designer to join Mashgin and help elevate the user experience across a broad array of products. Our technology spans kiosks, internal services, cloud platforms, and more, which means you’ll get to apply your design expertise in many different contexts. From shaping a cohesive design language to bringing new product ideas to life, you’ll be instrumental in defining what “Mashgin design” means going forward. You’ll work closely with founders, product managers, and engineers to craft intuitive and visually compelling interfaces.
You Will Be
- Bringing artistic skill, a keen eye for visual detail, and an understanding of usability to multiple platforms (hardware, web, and mobile)
- Leading the creation and iteration of design systems, UI components, and interaction patterns for all of Mashgin’s user-facing products
- Working in Figma and Photoshop (or other design tools) to prototype, refine, and produce high-fidelity designs
- Translating complex features and requirements into user-friendly, visually appealing interfaces
- Collaborating directly with software/hardware teams to ensure designs are implementable and realistic
- Sharing design best practices across the organization to cultivate a design-centric culture
- Occasionally dipping into basic CSS to confirm that what you’ve designed translates beautifully into code
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant design experience
- Strong portfolio showcasing your range of aesthetic and functional design skills
- Proficient in Figma and Photoshop (or equivalent design tools)
- Deep knowledge of UI patterns and principles, knowing when and why to apply each
- Demonstrated experience designing for production-ready applications or devices
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to articulate design decisions
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in designing interfaces across multiple device types
- Familiarity with design systems, style guides, and component libraries
- Basic CSS coding ability
- Ability to quickly prototype or mock up concepts for stakeholder review
- Experience in fast-paced environments where you iterate quickly and frequently
