Senior UI/UX Contractor
The Spatial team is looking for a human interface designer with the passion and skills to create high quality application interfaces in a fast-paced environment. You’ll be responsible for designing experiences for spatial computing applications for both visionOS and macOS. You’re a problem solver and self-starter that possesses a unique blend of interaction design, visual design, and prototyping skills. You’re equally adept in communicating with product leadership and engineers to define and execute end-user product experiences.
What You’ll Do:
- Oversee full design process from establishing requirements, defining features, and developing deliverables rooted in user-centered design and feasibility.
- Distill complex design and interaction concepts, present, and debate them with product, engineers, and leadership
- Iterate on intuitive experience concepts through rapid prototyping
- Deliver high-quality design solutions under tight deadlines and with input from many cross-functional stakeholders and user feedback
- Document interaction details and design specifications for implementation
What You’ll Need:
- Exemplary design and strategy skills showcased in a portfolio of recent work. Any applicants that don’t provide a portfolio along with the application will not be considered for the position.
- 7+ years of related work experience
- Expert knowledge of user-centered design principles and a strategic vision for crafting innovative design solutions
- Mastery of Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and similar design tools
- Ability to develop and validate design concepts through sketches, wireframes, visual comps, and prototypes
- Comfort and ability with working independently and collaborating with cross-functional partners in design, software, hardware
- Excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail
- Strong problem solving skills, attention to detail, and adaptability to rapid change
- Expertise in handling simultaneous complex projects while maintaining high quality design standards—excels in time management
- Proficiency in the use of typography, colors, materials, textures, layout, and information hierarchy.
- Experience with platform-specific user interface for native macOS apps.
- Experience in designing XR experiences is a huge plus.
- Experience in designing creative tools (audio DAW, animation, video editing, etc.) is a huge plus.
- High level of curiosity for technology amplified by your design craft.
