The Commercial Strategy & Partnerships Team (Commerce) handles all things related to servicing and streaming of our roster's music across all DSP's. The commerce team oversees the overall marketing strategy of an artist's release which includes everything from working with DSP partners, internal teams, and artist management teams to maximize reach. The commerce team additionally works closely to manage all physical products as well as their set up at partners.

The Copyright team's responsibilities start with a song. We setup writers according to their contracts, enter any songs that come in with the contract, and handle all the PRO registrations to ensure our client is taken care of. With an ever-growing catalog of songs, our work is never done. We spend our time navigating the wild world of publishing, including but activities such as: processing new works, researching claims, resolving conflicts, tracking cut songs, submitting corrections to PROs, finding ISRCs, and more. We also work closely with other teams in Publishing, including licensing, sync, digital rights, and creative.
The intern will learn about contracts, copyright and publishing, PROs, etc. We work on individual projects as well as team-based ones, depending on what's going on.

The Finance Department is responsible for reporting all financial results, artist and label statements, budgets and forecast for the global Virgin Music Group. Team is also responsible for royalties, accounts payable and business transformation processes. NY office team members include the global CFO, and various other team members. Intern will work with other team members in NY, LA and UK.

Global Administration is responsible for core administration functions - copyright, royalties, income tracking and analytics, compliance. The department works with external clients and internal UMPG affiliate offices around the world and across the rest of the publishing business.

The global finance team is responsible for the financial reporting and consolidation of the global music publishing results, as well as the oversight of the control environment. Outside of these FP&A duties, the team is responsible for investment analysis related to cash spend for the publishing business (i.e., new songwriter deals, acquisitions, etc.).

How You’ll CREATE:
The Global Replay Strategy team is responsible for identifying opportunities and building strategy to maximize the exposure and revenues of the catalogs of the actively signed artists across Republic Records, Island Records, Def Jam Recordings and Mercury Records.
Interns will help in updating our tracking docs, creating decks for optimization opportunities, brainstorming what to do for trending tracks and anniversaries, as well as compile old assets for upcoming anniversaries.
Label Management (TN)
How You’ll CREATE:
Virgin Music Group Label Managers manage the day-to-day activities for our distributed labels, guiding them with strategy, tactics and technical knowledge as they develop artists and monetize their distributed music and video content.
The Label Manager intern will help gather information and manage our team calls with the US commercial team where we present our weekly priorities. They will also shadow our label management team on group calls, allowing them an opportunity to experience how label managers work with every part of our business from operations to physical and digital sales, finance, legal, sync, and beyond. They will help prep our marketing pitches for the digital commercial teams. This intern will also have an opportunity to work closely with colleagues from other teams that are based in Nashville, which includes Product Management, Marketing, Radio Promo and DSP pitching.

Multiple responsibilities and projects will be available across the video and UGC landscape.
On YouTube specifically, helping to better instate our rights management capabilities such as dispute resolutions, reference overlaps, and copyright issues. Having a good understanding of the rights admin space is essential to upholding best practices across the organization. Educating creators, users, and our marketing teams will be important as well. Reporting and analytics so our partners are receiving best in class data and actionable suggestions for rollout strategies.
