Job Description

As a UX Researcher at PlayStation, you will conduct end-to-end UX research, primarily focusing on hardware products. This includes foundational research, defining product direction and concepts, and conducting usability testing. You'll translate research findings into impactful UX deliverables such as user personas, mental model maps, journey maps, and user flows. You will collaborate with designers, product managers, project managers, and engineers across various departments. While prototype handling will be done at Sony City (Tokyo), regular meetings can be conducted remotely via VPN. The UX design team is spread across the US, Japan, and the UK, with significant interaction with the US team, requiring strong English communication skills.

Must have:

5+ years of UX research experience
Understanding of industry-standard UX research methodologies
Proficiency in ethnographic and quantitative research methods
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Business-level English and Japanese language proficiency

■職務内容 / Job Description(Roles & Responsibilities)

PlayStationのUXリサーチについて、主にハードウェア製品を対象に以下の業務をお任せします。

・基礎調査から製品の方向性、コンセプト、ユーザビリティ・テストまで、エンドツーエンドのUXリサーチを実施する
・デザインリサーチを実施し、調査結果をユーザーペルソナ、メンタルモデルマップ、ジャーニーマップ、ユーザーフローなど、インパクトのあるUX成果物にまとめる
・様々な部門のデザイナー、プロダクトマネージャー、プロジェクトマネージャー、エンジニアを含むパートナーとのコミュニケーションをリードする

試作品の取り扱いは、ソニーシティ（東京）にて行っていただきますが、定例会議等の作業はVPNを利用した遠隔作業も可能です。

■組織・職場紹介 / About team and organization

当部署はPlayStationのUXデザイン全般を担当しています。

チーム内にはUser Centered Designのマインドセットを持ったUXリサーチャー、ビジュアルデザイナー、インタラクションデザイナー、UXライターがおり、PlayStationを最高の遊び場にするためのUXデザインに責任を持っています。
日々の業務ではUXデザイナーだけでなくプロダクトマネージャー、エンジニアなどと議論しながら、お客様視点で最適なUXをデザインしていきます。

UXデザインチームは、US、日本、UKの3拠点にあり、USとのやりとりが非常に多いチームです。

US、UKとのやりとりは英語、日本国内でのやりとりは日本語が中心となります。

■求められるスキル・技術領域 / Skills and Qualifications

【必須（MUST）】

・5年以上の業界におけるUXリサーチ経験

・エスノグラフィック手法（綿密なインタビュー、グループインタビューなど）、評価手法、定量的手法（調査、行動分析など）を含む業界標準のUXリサーチ手法に対する理解

・協調性がありチームメンバーと互いにモチベーションを高め合える人材
・社交的でグローバルに活躍できる人材

■語学力 / Language Skills

【英語】

・ビジネスレベルの英語力（英語によるレポート、オンライン会議あり）

※ 英語力は読み書きよりも会話力重視

【日本語】

・ビジネスレベルの日本語力（日本語能力試験N1またはそれと同等以上）

※ 日本にいるデザイナーやプロダクトマネージャーと日本語でのやりとりが発生するため
