About us
Exient is a leading developer and publisher of mobile free-to-play games, including titles such as “Ultimate Sackboy”, “Lemmings”, “Angry Birds Transformers”, “Dancing with the Stars” and many more.
We are based in both Malta and the UK and we currently have a little over forty people in our team across the two locations, it's a multicultural group of hardworking friendly people.
Since we were founded (in 2000), we have worked with some amazing partners including companies like Activision, Disney, Rovio, EA, Sony and Ubisoft and we have made some really great games together.
We are expanding and are looking for talented and driven staff with a passion for mobile gaming.
About the role
As a UI/UX - Designer you will assist our UI/ UX efforts by imagining, conceptualizing, and implementing UI for gameplay features in our agile and iterative game development process.
Responsibilities include
- Build quality products with a team of committed artists designers and engineers
- Create clean, beautiful user interfaces and other artwork
- Contribute to other areas of game development, applying your skills to create 2D artwork in the game
- Work with senior staff and feature owners to visualise elegant and fun solutions to complex ideas.
Experience
- A minimum of four years of industry experience
- A relevant degree would be an asset
- Experience using other Adobe tools such as After Effects and Premiere Pro.
- Experience with Unity and/or UE4.
- Collaborate with concept to finish design
Technical
- An understanding of UI and usability principles.
- Solid graphic design skills; typography, iconography, composition, layout, motion design, and a keen eye for colour.
- Confident using Adobe Suite.
- An understanding of the mobile/casual game market.
- An understanding of source control systems such as Perforce and/or Git.
- The ability to collaborate with other disciplines to creatively execute designs from wireframe through to final implementation.
- Able to work closely with production management to prioritise tasks and have a good understanding of workflows.
Interpersonal
- Fluency in English
- An ability to present and sell the design
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to guide and mentor less experienced artists.
- Level headed and not averse to creative clashes,
- A passion for mobile video games.
