This role involves supporting vehicle sub-system testing for vibration, strength, and durability as part of Tesla's Engineering Test Team. Responsibilities include setting up and conducting component and system-level tests using in-house or external equipment; supporting vibration tests on electrodynamic shaker tables; conducting sub-system strength and durability tests at third-party labs; performing detailed inspections and documenting issues; collaborating with engineers to resolve problems; providing test status updates; supporting instrumentation and data acquisition; maintaining test equipment; and maintaining a clean work environment. The ideal candidate possesses previous experience as an Engineering technician, with experience in a vibration or structural lab being a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.

What to Expect
In this position, you will work as a member of Tesla’s Engineering Test Team to support vehicle sub-system testing for vibration, strength and durability. The primary objective of this role is to setup, inspect and conduct component and system level tests in accordance with Tesla procedures using in-house or external test equipment.
What You’ll Do
Support vibration tests on electrodynamic shaker tables for various sub-systems used in Tesla vehicles
Support sub-system strength and durability tests at 3rd party test labs for structural components such as castings, body in white, sub-frames and suspension etc.
Conduct detailed inspections of the sub-systems as per Tesla standards and procedures & document and report issues identified during test or inspections
Collaborate with engineers to resolve issues discovered
Provide detailed written and verbal test status updates to key stake holders during weekly meetings
Support engineering teams in instrumentation and data acquisition setup and logging for these tests
Needs to be hands on with test setup, execution and performing general test equipment maintenance
Maintain a clean and organized work environment
What You’ll Bring
Previous experience as an Engineering technician
Experience in vibration lab or structural lab is a plus but not required
Experience with fabrication equipment (e.g. Band Saw, Drill Press)
Analytical problem solving & root cause analysis skills
Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
Good written and verbal communication skills in English
Experience with MS office tools (Outlook/Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Project)
