Summary

The purpose of Michigan Sports Television is to connect our community with Michigan athletics, our teams and student athletes and create memorable experiences.

The Video Content Producer will create content to promote Michigan Athletics for use at events and on our digital platforms. You will have a range of responsibilities that includes developing, shooting and editing video content for video boards, our digital platforms and television shows. The Production Team promotes the Michigan brand through our TV Shows, digital platforms and events.

Responsibilities*

Essential Functions

Events

  • Collaborate with the Event Presentation team to develop, shoot and edit game day production pieces for use at our events to energize our fans to create an exciting atmosphere.
  • Set-up lights, audio and camera to shoot green screen content.
  • Assist with game operations for scoreboard production at different venues.


Content

  • Collaborate with our Digital and Creative Teams to create content for our digital platforms to appeal to our wide-ranging audiences.
  • Shoot/edit practice and game footage of multiple sports for use in highlight packages, hype videos, features and other department projects.
  • Help design set and shoot content for sports to be used throughout the season on social media and in-game presentations.
  • Work with producers to create content for our TV shows, Inside Michigan Football and Inside Michigan Basketball.


Internal Content

  • Produce highlight videos for team banquets and recruiting purposes.
  • Collaborate with other departments for internal videos to promote their areas (e.g., Compliance, Ticket Office, Development, etc.)


Travel

  • Some travel with sports during regular and post season will be required to shoot and edit content on the road.

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Proficiency in operating a professional video camera, DSLR and gimbal with an understanding of audio and lighting.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop.
  • Work nights and weekends during season(s), which will involve periodic overtime and unplanned activities; on-call availability necessary.


Desired Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, video production or film studies.
  • Five (5) years of direct experience related to video production and editing
  • General knowledge of several collegiate sports and how they operate.
