Framestore’s Preproduction Services division enables filmmakers and showrunners to make early-stage, creative decisions that can then guide their entire production. We have over a hundred creatives, technologists and producers working across concept art, previsualisation, virtual production, in-camera VFX, techvis and postvis.

Responsibilities:
Working in both pre and postvis disciplines, editing scenes using animation storyboards, and live action
Maintaining shot and VFX databases
Using sound effects, music, voice recordings and subtitles where necessary
Work with the previs supervisor to shape the story by contributing ideas and shot suggestions
Maintaining all cuts, keeping them updated with the latest versions from artists, re-editing as needed
Reconforming edits to match director’s cut
Create and maintain shot numbering for edits and keep frame range information up to date in the database for artists and production
Providing various reference to artists when needed
Managing Avid media and storage
Maintaining shot and VFX databases
Preparing client deliveries
Liaising with Framestore Editorial in other offices
Liaising with cutting rooms (when applicable)
Preparing for and driving dailies sessions and client reviews
Providing support. motivation and training for assistants (where relevant or necessary)
Working closely with internal production, artists and other support departments providing advice, reference and information when needed
Cutting in house reels
Respecting confidentiality and media security policies
Essential Skills:
Several years experience working in a film, TV or VFX Editorial department, cutting room or similar environment
An in depth knowledge of Avid
Strong knowledge of film making terminology and language
An understanding of film and digital formats, codecs, files, frame rates and resolutions
File encoding and transcoding
Self motivated
Keen to learn new skills and applications
Excellent communication skills
A strong multi-tasker
Good eye for detail, diligent and meticulous
Calm under pressure
Desirable Skills:
Photoshop, After FX, Premiere Pro, Shotgun, Cinesync, RV
An understanding of the VFX process and terminology is a big advantage
Possess a love of film
