Framestore’s Preproduction Services division enables filmmakers and showrunners to make early-stage, creative decisions that can then guide their entire production. We have over a hundred creatives, technologists and producers working across concept art, previsualisation, virtual production, in-camera VFX, techvis and postvis.

The role
We are looking for an energetic, detail-oriented Editor to join our team and work across both previs and postvis disciplines. In this role, you will edit scenes using animation storyboards and live-action footage, adding sound effects, music, voice recordings, and subtitles as needed. Collaborating closely with the Previs Supervisor and other departments, you will help shape the narrative by contributing creative ideas, managing shot databases, and ensuring all cuts remain up to date with the latest versions.
Key responsibilities include:
Maintaining shot and VFX databases
Reconforming edits to match the director’s cut
Creating and maintaining shot numbering and frame range information
Providing references and materials to artists
Managing Avid media and storage
Preparing client deliveries and coordinating with other offices
Liaising with cutting rooms (where applicable)
Coordinating and driving dailies sessions/client reviews
Offering support, motivation, and training to assistants (where needed)
Working closely with production, artists, and support teams
Cutting in-house reels
Respecting confidentiality and media security protocols
Essential Skills:
Several years experience in film, TV, or VFX Editorial
Advanced knowledge of Avid and filmmaking terminology
Understanding of film/digital formats, codecs, and frame rates
Proficiency in file encoding/transcoding
Self-driven and eager to learn new tools/skills
Excellent communication and multitasking abilities
Keen eye for detail, thorough and meticulous
Able to remain calm under pressure
Desirable Skills:
Photoshop, After FX, Premiere Pro, Shotgun, Cinesync, RV
An understanding of the VFX process and terminology is a big advantage
Possess a love of film
