We are seeking a skilled Web Content Developer to support the Army University Press in the development and publication of high-quality academic and professional content. The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled professional with expertise in converting InDesign articles into accessible HTML and PDF formats. The role involves converting and publishing content from Adobe InDesign to accessible HTML and PDF formats, ensuring WCAG 2.1, PDF/UA, and Section 508 compliance. Responsibilities include using code editors for HTML5 and CSS3, remediating PDFs, utilizing text-to-speech tools, implementing responsive designs with Bootstrap, managing content with DNN, applying UX/SEO best practices, analyzing engagement with Google Analytics and Looker Studio, collaborating with stakeholders, and staying current with web technologies.
Good To Have:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Web Design, Graphic Design, or related field
Must Have:
- Convert InDesign to accessible HTML and PDF
- Ensure WCAG 2.1, PDF/UA, Section 508 compliance
- Develop clean HTML5 and CSS3 code
- Remediate PDFs using tools like PAC 2024 Checker
- Utilize text-to-speech (TTS) for audio formats
- Implement responsive designs with Bootstrap
- Manage content with DotNetNuke (DNN) or similar CMS
- Apply UX and SEO best practices
- Analyze digital engagement using Google Analytics/Looker Studio
- Collaborate with stakeholders on digital accessibility
- Stay current with web technologies and accessibility laws
- Be a United States citizen and pass background check
- Possess clear oral and written communication skills
- Work independently and collaboratively
- Meet requirements for military installation work
- Be self-motivated and manage time effectively
- Be organized with a strong sense of urgency

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Convert and publish content from Adobe InDesign to accessible HTML and PDF formats.
- Ensure all web and PDF content adheres to WCAG 2.1, PDF/UA, and Section 508 compliance standards.
- Use code editors to develop and maintain clean, semantic HTML5 and CSS3 code.
- Remediate PDF documents using tools such as PAC 2024 Checker.
- Utilize text-to-speech (TTS) tools to produce accessible audio formats from textual content.
- Implement responsive designs using the Bootstrap CSS framework.
- Manage content updates using DotNetNuke (DNN) or similar CMS platforms.
- Apply best practices in User Experience (UX) and Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
- Analyze digital engagement using Google Analytics, Looker Studio, and social media insights.
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to promote digital accessibility across platforms.
- Stay current with evolving web technologies, accessibility laws, and federal standards.
Education/Experience Required:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Web Design, Graphic Design, or a related field (preferred)
Other Qualifications:
- Must be a United States citizen and be able to pass a background check
- Possess clear and precise oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Able to meet requirements to work on military installation, including having a valid state driver's license and car insurance
- Be self-motivated with ability to establish priorities and effectively manage time to complete multiple tasks within specified timeframes
- Be organized with a strong sense of urgency
