Job Description

This Web Solutions Engineer role within Google's gTech Users and Products focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining the Distribution platform. Responsibilities include launching new features to support growing partner needs, scaling the platform while maintaining service level objectives, improving platform architecture and resiliency, participating in feature planning and prioritization, and collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide progress updates. The role requires full-stack development expertise, experience with distributed systems, and a strong understanding of API design. The engineer will work to enable more Google products to be distributed through partnerships, ensuring scalability to support Google's vast user base.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math or related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience in software development.
  • 4 years of experience in full-stack software development and system design.
  • Experience with backend languages (e.g., Java, Python, or C++).
  • Experience with front-end languages (e.g., JavaScript or TypeScript).
  • Experience working with database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4 years of experience designing and optimizing distributed applications.
  • 2 years of experience collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders on project requirements.
  • Experience with unit testing, agile software development, and bug and change management systems.
  • Experience designing and building maintainable Application Programming Interfaces (API), especially using Protocol Buffers.

We are the Partner Engineering team in gTech Users and Products. Our focus is on creating cross-product platforms and applications that enable integration with our global partners. We build, manage, and operate engineering platforms and provide automation services for third-party integration.

Our mission is to deliver the best technical solutions for partner success by enhancing the Google ecosystem to enrich user experience. We own multiple platforms that enable our partners to get the most out of our ecosystem. Distribution is one of the platforms that enables us to distribute Google products to users through our Partnerships.

We're looking for an engineer to design, develop, enhance and maintain our Distribution platform to support more Google products to be distributed via our partners, and scale the platform to run at Google scale.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $120,000-$176,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
