Job Description

As a Weekend Nights Quality Inspector at Axon, you will be responsible for inspecting materials according to Axon's inspection plans for raw, in-process, and outgoing quality. Your duties will include conducting tests and inspections of products, interpreting technical data and specifications, performing testing using Mark-10 equipment, and utilizing metrology tools. You will also be responsible for interpreting test results, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with standards. Additionally, you will maintain the QC database and analyze information to recommend solutions and solve problems. The role requires effective collaboration and an 'Own It' mentality.
Must have:
  • Conduct tests and inspections of raw, in-process, and finished products.
  • Read and interpret technical data and specifications.
  • Use metrology tools like calipers and micrometers.
  • Interpret test results and make recommendations.
  • Maintain laboratory testing and measurement equipment.
Good to have:
  • IPC-A-610 certification (Preferred)
  • Green Belt Certification (Preferred)
  • Experience of ISO standards, inspection standards and quality concepts

Weekend Nights Quality Inspector 

Your Impact

Are you crazy about quality? Do you love inspecting material to ensure the right level of quality. Axon is looking for a self-motivated Quality Inspector that is hungry to show their talents in the public safety industry.

As Axon’s Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for the inspection of material following Axon’s inspection plans for raw,
in-process and outgoing quality. This is a Friday- Sunday Shift, 6PM-6:30AM. 

What You’ll Do

Location: Onsite at our Deer Valley Phoenix, Arizona office
Reports to: Quality Control Supervisor

  • Conduct routine and non routine tests and inspections of raw, in-process and finished good products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance
  • Read and interpret technical data and specifications (2D prints/CAD) to conduct meaningful inspections and tests
  • Perform push and pull testing using Mark-10 equipment to qualify parts or gather data for engineering
  • Conduct non destructive and destructive testing on raw, in-process and finished good material to qualify material or aid in root cause investigations
  • Use a wide range of metrology tools (calipers, dial indicators, micrometers, optical comparator, etc)
  • Interpret test results, compare them to established specifications and control limits, and make recommendations on product release.
  • Maintain laboratory testing and measurement equipment
  • Monitor operational procedures in technical environments to ensure conformance to standards.
  • Conduct layered process audits to ensure compliance with Axon 7S standards
  • Maintain the QC database by logging, transcribing, recording, data in written or electronic form.
  • Analyzing information and evaluating results to recommend the best solution and solve problems
  • Effectively Join Forces with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong ‘Own It’ mentality to work autonomously and manage time effectively

What You Bring

  • Associates Degree or equivalent Experience
  • Basic software and computer skills
  • IPC-A-610 certification (Preferred)
  • Green Belt Certification (Preferred)
  • Experience of ISO standards, inspection standards and quality concepts
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint,
  • Familiarity with Minitab, JMP; other statistical software considered
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, product specifications, procedures and standards
  • Excellent written, oral communication and technical report writing skills
