Tesla seeks an experienced tooling engineer for forming tools to support the development, maintenance, and optimization of tools in the sheet metal cutting line, tandem line, and transfer line. This role significantly contributes to production efficiency and the quality of vehicle parts. Responsibilities include monitoring and improving production tools, supporting the design and acceptance of new tool sets, implementing ECOs and DMRs, developing standard parts catalogs, collaborating with global teams and suppliers, analyzing tool downtime and quality issues, and implementing solutions to reduce MTTF/MTTR and improve part quality. The ideal candidate will have a degree in mechanical engineering, 5+ years of experience in large-scale tool manufacturing (preferably in the automotive industry), proficiency in CAD software (CATIA V5), AUTOFORM R6, and CNC programming, experience with exterior body tools, and strong problem-solving skills.
