Workplace Manager

San Mateo, CA (On-Site, Flexible)

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) is seeking an experienced, hands-on Manager to oversee the Facilities Operations for its Corporate HQ in San Mateo, California.

Reporting to the Director, Facilities Operations, Americas this critical role will oversee the traditional aspects of Facility Operations at SIE’s HQ in San Mateo, CA. We are looking for someone to be accountable for working with the Management Team to maintain a safe, productive, and fun workplace.

The best candidate will build relationships, find common ground among diverse leaders, drive decision-making, and effectively communicate for a dynamic workspace.

Job Description:

  • Develop, prepare, and explain the annual facility budget, quarterly forecasts, and business plans
  • Assist in development of capital budgets for the properties, including contributions towards a five- year plan of maintenance, facility improvement, and cost reduction initiatives
  • Coordinate the collection, analysis, and reporting by the facility operations team of statistical data to provide accurate and current assessments of facility management objectives
  • Review the goals and find any problems or issues that keep happening. Then, figure out how to fix them.
  • They lead the facility operations team, overseeing maintenance programs for the facilities' conditions, appearance, and operation, as well as asset management.
  • Oversee local project management including collecting bids, building schedules, and communicating outcomes
  • Collaborate with corporate functions to optimize service delivery
  • Manage service contracts cost effectively
  • Responsible for all aspects of service delivery, responsible for periodic and ongoing performance and financial reviews, conducting RFP’s, and ensuring payments and invoicing match contract pricing
  • Review contracts to address client, tenant, and occupant needs and solve problems promptly for the benefit of tenants, owners, and properties.
  • Manage and drive customer focus within all areas of operational activities and ensure that effective relationships are maintained with key client contacts
  • Drive innovation by implementing effective practices, improving efficiency, and identifying trends and tools for operational excellence.
  • Reach out to people at all levels of the organization to get their feedback, understand their needs, and complete projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in a relevant field or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • 10+ years of experience in a related field
  • Superior understanding of construction schedules, facility operations, technology, furniture, fixtures, and equipment
  • Facilities management credentials (IFMA/BOMI) a plus
  • Hospitality experience a plus
  • Highly adaptable, comfortable with change and ambiguity, capable of quickly rallying teams and resources
  • Financial analysis and budgeting skills related to project management and facilities operations
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Promote and exhibit the highest level of professionalism and great work ethic
  • Ability to work with all levels of employees and external vendors
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications (esp. PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently and manage competing priorities
  • Ability to think strategically to analyze the needs of the business and define solutions
  • Ability to navigate between strategic work and tactical execution

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$137,400 — $206,200 USD
