Activision Blizzard is seeking talented and innovative students for their 2025 US Co-Op - Game Engineering program. The program offers in-person co-op opportunities in Albany, NY, with a choice between Gameplay Engineering and Graphics/Rendering. Gameplay Engineering focuses on developing gameplay and features for shipping titles, requiring strong technical skills and experience in programming languages like C++. Graphics/Rendering involves working on console, PC, and mobile titles, requiring knowledge of C++, rendering architecture, and performance optimization. Co-ops will receive a meaningful project, learn new skills/technology, collaborate with industry professionals, and participate in exclusive Learning & Development and social events.
Must have:
  • Pursuing an associates, bachelors, or masters degree
  • Graduating December 2025 – July 2026
  • Enrolled in a college or university that offers co-op programs
  • Available to participate in a co-op from May 19th or June 16th to December 13th
  • Currently residing in the US or open to relocating oneself to the US
  • Proficient in a programming language, preferably C++
  • Knowledge of mathematics for 3D graphics, particularly linear algebra
Good to have:
  • Proven game programming experience (personal or professional)
  • Working knowledge of C++
  • Experience with at least one game-related domain (graphics, networking, embedded systems)
  • Multi-threading, optimization (rendering and systems), and computer architecture
  • Practical facility in an additional language like Python or Rust

Game Engineering Co-Op

Player Profile

  • Pursuing an associates, bachelors, or masters and graduating December 2025 – July 2026
  • Enrolled in a college or university that offers co-op programs
  • Available to participate in a co-op from May 19th or June 16th to December 13th

  • A passion for significantly impacting game development

Co-Op Opportunities

All Co-Ops will be conducted in-person. Hosting managers will determine when and how often Co-Ops work in the office Monday-Friday (living stipend provided to all Co-Op).

Co-Op location: Albany, NY

Gameplay Engineering Co-Op: Partner across teams developing gameplay and features for our games. You will be working on a shipping title, with a mentor, on a team managing multiple projects against competing deadlines. It may be the biggest challenge you have faced, but your strong technical skills, initiative, and commitment will get you through.

  • Proficient in a programming language, preferably C++
  • Knowledge of mathematics for 3D graphics, particularly linear algebra
  • An eagerness to collaborate and innovate on game side code
  • Proven game programming experience a plus (personal or professional)

Graphics/Rendering Co-Op: Work on console, PC, and mobile titles to solve problems within render architecture, systems programming, GPU microcode, procedural geometry, ray-tracing, and performance analysis and optimization.

  • Working knowledge of C++
  • Experience with at least one game-related domain (graphics, networking, embedded systems)
  • Multi-threading, optimization (rendering and systems), and computer architecture are a plus
  • Practical facility in an additional language like Python or Rust

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $20.00 - $50.00 Hourly. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role’s range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
