3D Environment Modeller

POSITION SUMMARY

Sunrise Animation is pleased to announce the production of DAVID, a major animated feature film that tells the story about one of the most captivating characters in all of human history. Sunrise is looking for 3D Environment Modellers to join our growing team. If you are a 3D environment modeller, we’d love to hear from you!

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create complex high-end environments & props that align with the artistic design/style of the film.
• Work well with direction/feedback from Directors & Art Directors, & collaborate well with all department Leads.
• Complete organisation and packaging of 3D assets for efficient downstream consumption.
• Maintain a high level of communication with the Modelling Lead & Supervisor, particularly in any situations that might compromise quality or schedule.
• Use specific software (Sunrise primarily uses Maya) to create the 3D geometry to the required specifications.
• Incorporate artistic and technical ability, with a good understanding of animation.
• The position is on-site and/or remote.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Demonstrated experience modelling 3D objects at feature film or high-end TV level.
• Proficient CG modelling in Maya. 
• Professional experience in SpeedTree is a big plus.
• Solid understanding of optimal UV layouts for Look/Texturing.
• Strong spatial awareness & a good sense of form, scale & proportion.
• A keen eye & excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work well in a highly-collaborative environment, taking direction from Directors & Leads.
• Good communication and organisational skills.

• A clear indication on the reel of your specific contribution to shots etc.
