Job Description

The Account Strategist, Mid-Market Sales role at Google involves managing a portfolio of medium and large businesses, understanding their growth drivers, identifying opportunities, and developing plans for achievement. Responsibilities include delivering against ambitious quarterly goals, pitching and consulting with clients on their annual digital marketing strategies and budgets, driving customer growth through outstanding sales experiences, and achieving customer business and marketing objectives. Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills are crucial. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of online media, marketing strategies, and digital advertising campaigns, with a focus on performance marketing. Fluency in English and Dutch is required for managing client relationships. The role requires expertise in sales techniques including effective questioning, objection handling, and compelling storytelling.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years experience in advertising/sales/marketing
  • Fluent in English and Dutch
  • Achieve sales quotas and drive growth
  • Consult and pitch to clients
  • Manage client relationships

  • Experience assessing and achieving client success

Job Details

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in advertising, consultative sales, business development, online media environment, or marketing role.
  • Ability to communicate in English and Dutch fluently to manage client relationships in the region.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience assessing and achieving client success via sales techniques, including effective questioning, objection handling and engaged promotions.
  • Knowledge of online marketing strategy and tactics, and expertise in managing digital advertising campaigns with a focus on performance marketing.
  • Ability to own a portfolio in an advertising or media sales context and consistently achieve quotas to drive growth.
  • Ability to build compelling narratives and utilize storytelling as a client engagement strategy.

  • Own a portfolio of medium and large size businesses by thoroughly understanding growth drivers, identifying opportunities for growth, managing risks and building plans for achievement.
  • Pitch and consult with customers proactively to support annual digital marketing discussions and budgets.
  • Drive customer growth by delivering outstanding customer sales experience and achieving customer business and marketing objectives.
  • Provide stakeholder management, build relationships with the end customer or agencies.
