Role Overview

As an Animator/Rigger, you will play a key role in bringing characters and creatures to life within our games. You will be responsible for creating high-quality animations, rigging character models, and ensuring that animations are smooth and realistic. You will work closely with our art and design teams to ensure that animations align with the overall vision of our projects.

What You Can Expect To Work On

  • Character Animation: Create fluid and believable animations for characters, creatures, and objects, ensuring they align with the game’s style and vision.
  • Rigging: Develop and maintain rigs for characters and other assets, enabling animators to produce high-quality animations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with game designers, artists, and other team members to integrate animations and rigs seamlessly into the game.
  • Optimization: Ensure animations and rigs are optimized for performance and quality across different platforms and devices.
  • Feedback Integration: Revise and improve animations and rigs based on feedback from the team and playtesting results.
  • Technical Skills: Troubleshoot and resolve animation and rigging issues, ensuring that all assets function correctly within the game engine.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear and detailed documentation for rigs, animation systems, and processes.

Requirements

What You Need to Succeed

  • Proven experience as an animator/rigger in the gaming industry with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
  • Proficiency in animation and rigging software such as Maya, Blender, or 3ds Max. Experience with game engines like Unreal Engine.
  • Strong artistic skills with an eye for detail, movement, and timing.
  • Ability to identify and resolve technical and artistic issues independently.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
  • A degree in Animation, Game Design, Computer Graphics, or a related field.
  • Previous experience with character rigging for diverse types of games (e.g., realistic, stylized).
  • Additional Skills: Knowledge of Python scripting or other programming languages to assist with tool development and automation.

About The Company

In Southeast Asia (SEA), unicorn exits and tech company listings have proven to offer founders and investors unrealistic expectations, given the maturity of the market. This dilemma has left founders in a challenging position as they have to optimise for the outsized outcomes investors that follow Western narratives desire, while facing the reality of the consumer landscape.

At LiquidX, we aim to shift this narrative and demonstrate that it is possible to achieve large-scale outcomes by using a distinct approach to company building. Through a holding company (holdco) structure, we will build multiple cash flow-positive businesses that can, but do not necessarily have to, rely on venture scale narratives.

The usual arguments against this approach are as follows: 

 1) The focus of founders will be divided, hence ineffective.

 2) We won’t be able to get top-tier talent to build companies this way.

 3) That Venture scale outcomes are not possible.

We believe all 3 arguments above are false narratives, and aim to prove that this new (to tech) model of company building is the optimal approach for emerging markets. Along this journey, we aspire to ensure that everyone involved enjoys the process.
