Backend Engineer for Scala Academy

We are looking for passionate Backend Engineers to join our Scala Academy. The Scala Academy offers paid work combined with comprehensive learning through reading and video materials, integration into one of our teams from day one, weekly mentor sessions, and practical real-life tasks that will help you smoothly transition to using Scala. 

Our team excels in creating well-designed, scalable systems using modern functional programming approaches. We believe that Scala's functional programming paradigm makes systems easier to build and maintain and we would love to show you that! 

You will need to: 

• Learn and practically apply your newly acquired Scala Development skills. 
• Be proactive, pragmatic, and professional in delivering results. 
• Write code to support our games and related functionality. 
• Collaborate efficiently with the development team, including product delivery managers, front-end developers, and other related team members. 
• Actively participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality code delivery. 
• Invest in continuous self-improvement and professional development. 

To succeed in this role, you should have: 

• Passion for Functional Programming and interest in Scala; 
• Interest in the latest programming trends, such as functional and reactive programming; 
• Good communication skills and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving; 
• High proficiency in spoken and written English; 
• Previous experience in any of the following languages: Haskell, Swift, C#, F#, JavaScript, JVM languages like JAVA, Kotlin, etc.
