As a Build Engineer with Gamebreaking Studios, you will help a variety of studios succeed in making great games by working with BespokeCI - our build system tailor-made for games - to enable teams to playtest their game every day.

Gamebreaking Studios is looking for someone eager to break into game development with a passion for learning, problem solving, and helping people. We want an intern to join our team of Build Engineers using and supporting BespokeCI. In this role, you can expect to troubleshoot errors and breaks, apply updates and security patches, and implement customer requests to improve the performance and functionality of their build system.

Build Engineers are often known for their breadth of knowledge, rather than depth. We are looking for someone equally comfortable using a terminal to remotely administer a linux system with SSH as they are writing a script to automate a tedious task or contributing to a package or module in a more complex piece of software. You will be working closely with game designers, artists, and engineers, and have opportunities to collaborate and contribute ideas of your own.

We encourage you to apply even if you do not meet all of the skills listed here. We understand that your qualifications may shine through in different ways and can be based on unique perspectives and experiences.

Gamebreaking Studios is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We celebrate diversity, and are committed to maintaining a safe and inclusive environment for our team.

Duration and Employment Status

We are a fully remote working environment seeking current students or recent graduates of universities, bootcamps, or those with similar experience to join our company. This is an entry-level position with no prior work experience required, though candidates with prior work experience will be considered.

This position is a paid internship between 3 and 6 months duration, with the possibility of a direct hire to full-time at its conclusion. We seek a candidate able to work a minimum of 30 hours per week, with a preference for 40 hours. The duration and timeframe of this internship are flexible depending on the candidate and their university’s situation

Benefits and employment duration may differ based on student status and country-specific laws

  • The ability to write scripts or software packages in at least one of the following languages: C#, Bash, Powershell, Python, Java, Javascript, Groovy, C++, or similar.
  • Experience with cloud computing and cloud technologies (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Familiarity with at least one of the common game engines such as Unreal, Unity, Godot, or similar.
