NetEase Games is one of the largest game developers worldwide by size and revenue. Over the years, NetEase Games has been focusing on developing high quality content and providing the best experience for gamers all around the world. So far, the company has more than 100 games in operation. Its recent games include Naraka: Bladepoint, Knives Out, Onmyoji, Identity V, Harry Potter: Magic Awakened, etc. Along with its many creative partnerships, NetEase is expanding its portfolio of studios, including Bad Brain Game Studios, Jackalyptic Games, Jar of Sparks, and Quantic Dream.

The Job

Lead, design, develop, code, test, and iterate on game features. You will:

  • Work closely with the Creative Director to translate the games vision from prototype to shipping
  • Collaborate with design to prototype and implement gameplay features to a high standard of quality
  • Architect new game systems with usability in mind
  • Create both technical and designer-facing documentation
  • Implement appropriate testing and debugging support as needed
  • Support product performance goals by architecting and implementing systems with performance in mind
  • Contribute to the overall technical direction of the project by participating in architectural design sessions and code reviews
  • Evangelize playtesting. Champion feedback. Then iterate quickly.
  • Mentor the less experienced engineers on our team
  • Lightweight management tasks such as code reviews, input or oversite on employee performance management
  • Assisting other engineers and production with forecasting, scheduling, and scoping

Qualifications

  • Unreal Engine experience
  • Excellent understanding of C++
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Desire to work closely with people from other disciplines
  • Self-motivated
  • 6+ years game industry experience
  • At least one (1) shipped AAA Title

For this position, we are hiring on talent and cultural fit first and foremost, but extra points for:

  • First person shooter experience
  • Co-Op and Multiplayer experience

Salary Range (USD): $130,000 - $200,000
