Contract Principal Engineer

Onward Search is a specialized staffing and talent solutions company that helps professionals find top jobs with the nation’s leading brands. We’re looking to hire a Principal Engineer for a leading healthcare organization. This is a 12 month W2 contract with benefits and the role can be worked remotely.  

Responsibilities:

• Lead digital engineering team, ensuring technical excellence and adherence to best practices.
• Evaluate emerging technologies for innovation in digital health.
• Develop complex features, optimize performance, and maintain code quality.
• Resolve technical challenges and provide recommendations aligned with business goals.
• 7+ years of software development experience, with 2+ years in leadership.
• Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, REST API, and agile methodologies.
• Strong background in Microservices, Web services, and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Experience with CI/CD, KAFKA DB, NoSQL DB, and cloud platforms (GCP, Azure, AWS) mandatory. 
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and GraphQL mandatory.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
