The Contract Specialist is responsible for performing administrative tasks for the Company’s Legal Department, including contract administration, document preparation, correspondence, and administrative support. This role requires communication with field operations and third parties. Responsibilities include preparing legal documents, administering the contract workflow, reviewing contracts, communicating with departments, formatting correspondence, and performing administrative tasks like record keeping and handling compliance mailings. The specialist must manage projects, communicate effectively, and work in a dynamic environment.

Job Details

General Summary The Contract Specialist is responsible for performing numerous administrative tasks for the Company’s Legal Department. The role will include a wide variety of tasks with a heavy focus on contract administration, document preparation, correspondence, and general administrative support. The role will require regular communication with the Company’s field operations and third parties. Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare a variety of legal documents for field operations or other corporate departments.

  • Assist in administering the Department’s contract workflow. The Department’s contract workflow is a system for intake, preparation, and processing of legal documents for legal review, signature, storage, and return to the party that submitted the contract for review.

  • Receive and prepare a high volume of contracts for review by in-house attorneys.

  • Compare incoming contracts to previously negotiated contracts, carrying over past edits and identifying different, additional, or missing language.

  • Communicate with field operations or other corporate departments throughout the contract review process.

  • Communicate with field operations or other corporate departments on a variety of other legal inquires.

  • Format and mail correspondence for the Company’s attorneys.

  • Perform a variety of administrative tasks for the Department, including record keeping, filing documents, processing invoices, and handling compliance mailings.

  • Performs other duties as required.

Job Specifications

Knowledge

  • College degree

  • Prior experience preferred

Skills and abilities
  • Proficiency in the use of the English language in reading, writing, and speaking.

  • Ability to manage numerous projects at once, remain organized and prioritize workload.

  • Excellent oral and written communication.

  • Ability to successfully interact with all organizational levels and the public.

  • Ability to work in an environment of dynamic growth and continuous improvement.

  • Ability to be mobile in the work environment.

  • Ability to pass a drug test.
