Job Description
The Data Center Facilities Technician II, Electrical is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing various data center systems, including UPS, generators, electrical distribution, and control monitoring systems. This role involves providing daily assistance to other technicians, reading blueprints/schematics, conducting system tours, and assessing system functionality. The technician will manage system uptime and respond to abnormal conditions, supporting the startup and integration of new electrical equipment. The ideal candidate possesses 5 years of relevant electrical experience in an industrial or commercial environment, with knowledge of data center electrical systems (e.g., feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear). Strong problem-solving skills and adherence to safety standards are crucial for this position.

Must Have:
- 5 years of electrical experience
- Associate's degree or equivalent
- Knowledge of data center electrical systems

Minimum qualifications:
- Associate's degree, trade school certification, or other certified training in a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to participate in material handling tasks such as lifting, carrying or moving up to 50 lbs (23 kg) of equipment, the required use of safety equipment such as limited weight bearing work platforms, ladders, step stools and personal protective equipment (PPE) like safety harnesses in accordance with safety and ergonomic guidelines and assessments.
- Ability to work non-standard hours and work rotations/shifts.
- 5 years of Electrical experience (e.g., electrical testing equipment or electrical distribution) in industrial or commercial environment.
Preferred qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in maintenance of electrical distribution systems or construction/technical environment or a related field.
- Experience in data centers, hospitals, or power plants.
- Knowledge of electrical systems used in a data center environment (e.g., Feeders, Transformers, Generators, Switchgear, UPS systems, ATS/STS units, PDU/PMM units).
- Knowledge of meters, devices, sensors, and troubleshooting utilizing standard hand tools, digital metering, or calibration/diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to communicate with contractors who perform maintenance or upgrade work on the data center systems.
