Job Description

This role involves maintaining the infrastructure of in-house trading pricing and risk software for a UK branch of a Japanese bank. Responsibilities include Linux/network infrastructure implementation and support, data analysis, supporting quantitative analysts and the development team, and ensuring data integration from various sources. The position requires strong IBM Symphony support skills (health monitoring, job scheduling, etc.), data integration expertise, and ETL process automation. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between DevOps and Data teams, ensuring data pipelines are built to support continuous delivery and integration. The work is remote in Ukraine.

Project description

UK branch of Japanese bank which is supporting derivatives section in Europe and Tokyo looking for a person who will be able to maintain in-house trading pricing and risk software's infrastructure. Work together with Corporate IT to support and enhance grid (IBM Symphony) itself and batches which are running for calculations.

Responsibilities

Linux/network infrastructure implementation and support.

Skills

Must have

IBM Symphony Support: Do health monitoring, job scheduling management. Respond to alerts related to job failures, system performance issues, or other anomalies. Apply necessary patches, updates, and hotfixes. Regularly perform system backups and develop disaster recovery strategies.

Data Integration: Integrate data from various internal and external sources to support business analytics and reporting (e.g., from APIs, third-party services, or internal systems).

Data Collection and ETL: Work to ensure that data is collected, cleaned, and transformed for analysis. Automate ETL processes to ensure continuous data flow for analysis.

Collaboration Between DevOps and Data Teams: Act as a bridge between DevOps and Data teams. Ensure that data pipelines are built in a way that supports continuous delivery and integration, and vice versa—ensure the infrastructure is optimized for data workflows.

Nice to have

Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends in both DevOps and data analysis to ensure that systems and processes are optimized using the latest technologies.

Documentation: Document code, data pipelines, workflows, and processes for transparency and future scalability.

Stakeholder Communication: Communicate complex data or infrastructure topics to non-technical stakeholders in an understandable manner.
