JAVA Devops Engineer

About Us:

Customers of Flowmentum, Inc are leaders in DevOps services for the SaaS market. We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer familiar with the jBoss, Wildfly ecosystem on AWS. Systems Developers and DevOps Engineers with a strong background in AWS RDS, AWS EC2, terraform, Apache Wildfly, jBoss, Java and Linux are sought to join our forward-thinking team.


Job Overview:

As a DevOps Engineer you will design a new system that includes the development and maintenance of CICD pipelines, optimize the current production infrastructure, maintain and troubleshoot production software that is being used by thousands of customers across the world. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of applications deployed on WildFly. You will work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to streamline our CI/CD pipelines and optimize our infrastructure.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable production systems on WildFly or jBoss.
  • Develop maintain and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate application deployment and testing.
  • Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration of new features and updates.
  • Implement security best practices to safeguard applications and infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development, test, and production environments.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of system architecture, configurations, and procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to drive continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer with a focus on WildFly, jBoss, and Java
  • Proficiency in programming and operations with Java in the Kubernetes environment.
  • Experience or strong interest in working with technologies such as RDS, EKS, terraform, Prometheus and Grafana. Loki experience a plus
  • Participation in projects aimed at deploying Kubernetes, optimizing system performance in both non-production and production environments to ensure scalability and reliability.
  • Ability to engage with modern logging and monitoring technologies as part of our cloud-native project initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of WildFly application server configuration, deployment, and management.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP HANA Cloud integrations
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Groovy.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Solid understanding of networking, security, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) principles.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or Splunk.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Knowledge of database management systems like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Certification in DevOps practices or related technologies.
