Job Description

As a DevOps Engineer II at Fortis Games, you'll design and implement scalable, robust infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration with game and platform teams. Responsibilities include automating infrastructure using Terraform and Ansible, implementing monitoring and optimizing system performance, collaborating with cross-functional teams, enforcing security best practices, and resolving infrastructure issues. You'll be involved in on-call rotation and improving system resilience. Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), cloud technologies (AWS), IaC principles, networking, security, microservices, and monitoring tools is essential.

What you’ll achieve

  • Platform Design and Implementation: Build scalable, robust infrastructure and ensure seamless integration with game and platform teams.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Automate and version infrastructure using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
  • Monitoring and Performance Optimization: Implement monitoring and optimize system performance to ensure availability and efficiency.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Align infrastructure with application needs and share best practices with cross-functional teams.
  • Security and Compliance: Enforce security best practices and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Troubleshooting and Incident Response: Resolve infrastructure issues, participate in on-call rotation, and improve system resilience.

What you’ll need to be successful

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Shell, PowerShell).
  • Hands-on experience with containerization, orchestration, and cloud technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS, AWS).
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools and principles (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
  • Strong understanding of networking, security, and cloud environments, with knowledge of microservices architecture and serverless computing.
  • Experience with backend API development and monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana).
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Kubernetes) are strongly preferred.
