As Director, Channel Merchandising, you will design and build a brand new capability within the Funko organization, unlocking brand and product growth across our commercial channels. You will play an integral role in developing and executing channel and account level product assortment plans that deliver against the Funko’s fan-centric strategy and financial goals. You will ensure that the right products are available to the right accounts, and work with cross-functional partners in Fan Merchandising, Planning, Creative, Sales, and DTC. What You’ll Do
- Perform Channel Analysis: Identify the most suitable channels for a product based on factors like target audience, product characteristics, and competitive landscape.
- Determine Product Mix: Determine the optimal mix of products, including retailer exclusives, replenishment, and evergreen items, to meet customer needs and maximize sales. This involves considering factors such as product variety, pricing, inventory levels, and promotions.
- Develop Channel-Specific Assortments: Develop channel-specific assortments that cater to the unique needs and preferences of different customer segments, ultimately driving differentiation across accounts and growing market share for the Funko brand.
- Determine the Exclusive & Limited-Edition Product Strategy: You will work with account partners and commercial teams to complement the mainline assortment and drive fan excitement & traffic at retail.
- Manage Product Life Cycle: Manage the life cycle of products, from introduction to decline, by adjusting product offerings, pricing, and promotion strategies as needed within specific channels and accounts.
- Drive Channel-Specific Packaging: Partner with creative to design and implement packaging that is tailored to specific channels, taking into account factors like shelf life, transportation requirements, and consumer preferences.
- Forecasting & Inventory Management: Work closely with Key Account planning to ensure that appropriate levels of inventory are maintained across different channels to avoid stockouts or excess inventory.
What You’ll Bring
- 15+ years of retail buying and/or merchandising assortment planning experience – you have experience working for a retailer or a brand with a history of increasing scope and responsibility. You know how to take a line plan and shape it into a fan-focused business plan because you’ve done it before and know what it takes to win.
- Capability building and change management experience: you understand how to design new ways of working and bring your team and cross-functional partners along the change journey.
- Executive-level communication skills – you are able to build presentations and pitch your ideas to everyone from wholesale buyers to DMMs to internal stakeholders and beyond.
- Expert level financial acumen – you understand retail math and relevant KPIs and can use that experience to develop strategies and assortments that deliver for both Funko and key accounts.
- Elite analytical abilities – you can learn systems, pull raw data, and manipulate the output into cogent, consumable analysis that generates actionable insights that can be shared across the enterprise.
- Passion for Pop Culture & Product – Funko makes products that millions of people of love, and you are their advocate for bringing product to life through channel and account strategy. To succeed in this role, product has to be seen as more than numbers on a page.

Salary Information
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $151,000 - 200,000 annually.Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.

Work Environment
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
This position is based in Everett, WA or Burbank, CA.
