Job Description

The Director of Product, Firefox Growth role is a critical position within the product management team, leading a team of product managers. The primary responsibility involves enhancing the daily active usage of the Firefox browser through improved user engagement, retention, and activation. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing growth strategies, leading and mentoring product managers, driving product roadmaps, collaborating with cross-functional teams, analyzing market trends, and identifying new product opportunities. This role requires strategic leadership, experience in consumer product growth, strong analytical skills, and a user-centric approach.
Must have:
  • 10+ years of Product Management experience, including leadership roles.
  • 5+ years of direct PM management experience.
  • Ability to drive consumer product growth, focusing on engagement and retention.
  • Strong analytical skills for data-driven decision making and measuring success.
  • Deep understanding of user needs and behaviors.

About this team and role:

Firefox is used by hundreds of millions worldwide, and the Director of Product for Growth is a critical role in the product management team. The role will lead a team of PMs and be responsible for increasing the daily active usage of the browser through improving user engagement, retention, and activation. Use your background in developing digital products, encouraging collaboration on growth projects across departments, ensuring product quality, and demonstrating effective leadership to support Firefox's growth.

What you'll do:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive growth strategies aimed at increasing activation, engagement, and retention across the desktop and mobile browsers
  • Lead and mentor a team of product managers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, experimentation, and continuous improvement
  • Drive delivery of the Growth and New Tab product roadmaps
  • Partner closely with UX, Research, Engineering, Marketing, and Business Development teams to align on growth objectives and deliver key results
  • Synthesize market changes and the technology/people/skills investments needed to deliver great browser experiences
  • Help identify new investment areas and product opportunities 
  • Contribute to building a world-class product team

What you'll bring:

  • Top-notch product management: 10+ years of Product Management experience, including impactful leadership roles on major products
  • Strong team leadership: 5+ years of direct PM management experience
  • Strategic growth experience: Demonstrated ability to drive the growth of a consumer product, with a focus on increasing engagement, retention, activation, and creating growth loops in product.
  • Data-driven decision-making: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use data to drive decision making and measure success
  • Customer-centric approach: Deep understanding of user needs and behaviors, with a passion for creating products that delight users
