Job Description

The EHS Leader will implement global EH&S policies, execute EH&S activities, and assist with the deployment of Pentair’s Safety Culture Transformation initiative. Responsibilities include tracking and analyzing EHS metrics, providing training, and ensuring compliance with local government regulations. The role involves managing EHS tasks, including hazard identification, risk assessment, and establishing an EHS management system. Data collecting and reporting (30%) include routine inspection records, commitment meeting topics, incident recording, and monthly sustainability reporting. Safety related projects (20%) include leading safety projects and maintaining EHS compliance. Up to 30% domestic travel and occasional international travel may be required.
Must have:
  • Implement global EH&S policies and activities.
  • Track, monitor, and analyze EHS metrics.
  • Provide EHS training for consistency.
  • Familiarity with EHS regulations and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively in English.

Job summary:

  • To implement the global EH&S policy, execute EH&S activities launched globally.
  • Assist with the deployment of Pentair’s Safety Culture Transformation initiative across local manufacturing sites, ensuring alignment with corporate safety goals.
  • Track, monitor, and analyse EHS metrics to assess performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide EHS training ensuring consistency and compliance with safety standards.
  • To implement the requirement of EH&S policy of local government.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

EH&S management task (50%)

  • Facilitating EH&S Policies, Principles, Programs/Procedures to meet the requirement of corporate guidelines & national/local regulations.
  • Hazard & Risk identification, assessment &minimization/elimination.
  • Establish local EHS management system & conduct self-evaluation periodically to ensure compliance. 
  • Conduct Training needs analysis and establish EHS Training programs; both for on-boarding orientation and transferring training and routine OJT; Outsourced external training as needed.
  • Drafting and amending local EH&S management related documents, which were requested by local safety & Environment, public health bureau.
  • Enhance EHS culture establishment, encourage management’s engagement and employees’ involvement in Safety Program, for instance, schedule EHS inspection plan, schedule Safety Executive Committee/Safety Steering Committee, initiate incident investigation& RCCM, organize emergency drills, etc.

Data collecting and reporting (30%)

  • EHS routine inspection record and tracking the closure
  • EHS commitment meeting topics preparation, meeting minutes, and tracking the closure.
  • Safety risks, observation record and tracking the closure.
  • Incident (near miss, first aid, property damage, RI, etc.) recording, reporting and tracking the action plan closure.
  • Monthly sustainability Reporting (energy consumption data and waste generation data via global system).
  • Assist other Pentair locations within China with mandatory reporting and data tracking.
  • Up to 30% domestic travel to manufacturing facilities and for other business-related activities.
  • Occasional international travel may be required.

Safety related projects (20%)

  • Leading & work with related department on safety related projects to make sure projects was closed on time.
  • Maintain EHS compliance at Wuxi and assist other manufacturing facilities located within China. This will include managing regulatory projects including but not limited to, permit application and renewals, regulatory inspection & citation response, permit non-conformances, environmental remediation projects and significant environmental improvement projects, including providing documentation to demonstrate compliance with all company and agency requirements.
  • Support other routine EHS activities as required.
  • Other jobs assigned by direct manager

Key Qualifications:

  • Passion on communicating and coordinating with colleagues to improve the EHS mindset.
  • 5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is preferred.
  • Ability to working under pressure to foster the EH&S culture aligned with global policy.
  • Familiarity with EHS regulations, processes, and procedures, with experience in implementing and maintaining regulatory compliance.
  • Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel, Power Point etc.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both oral and written.
