About the job:
As an Engagement Abuse Analyst, you will be a key contributor to the strategy for reducing network badness on YouTube. You will require on-call work at weekends on a rotational basis. You will also be exposed to graphic, controversial, and sometimes offensive video content during team escalations in line with YouTube’s Community Guidelines. Your responsibilities will include applying advanced statistical methods to large complex data sets to understand the impact of abuse to the YouTube ecosystem, contributing to the strategy and development of new workflows against additional known vectors of abuse, learning complex and technical concepts and systems and delivering meaningful results using them, communicating highly technical results and methods clearly, maintaining, fostering, and promoting quality by providing regular feedback metrics to the Global team, managing technological solutions for streamlining quality assurance and producing scalable training solutions to emergent workflows, performing fraud and spam investigations using various data sources, identifying product vulnerabilities and driving anti-abuse experiments to prevent abuse, working with engineers and interacting cross-functionally with stakeholders to improve workflows via process improvements, automation, and anti-abuse system creation, and developing high-quality training materials, creating consensus, and maintaining communication for YouTube Scaled Abuse with business stakeholders.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 4 years of experience in data management, metrics analysis, experiment design and automation
  • Experience with classification systems, ranking systems, or similar
Good to have:
  • Experience translating investigative insights into business strategies and actions
  • Experience creating opportunities to innovate, conceptualize, and complete while working with global teams
  • Experience collecting, managing and synthesizing large data sets and information from disparate sources, statistical modeling, data mining, and data analysis

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in data management, metrics analysis, experiment design and automation.
  • Experience with classification systems, ranking systems, or similar.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience translating investigative insights into business strategies and actions.
  • Experience creating opportunities to innovate, conceptualize, and complete while working with global teams.
