Are you a systems thinker who innovates and optimizes complex control systems by identifying customer needs, applying industry requirements, and leveraging a diverse technological understanding? In this role, you'll identify stakeholder needs, derive requirements, analyze tradeoffs, develop algorithms and architectures, review designs, and troubleshoot systems. We’re seeking a leader across engineering disciplines who creates unique solutions and prioritizes delivery and quality.

Duties

Including but not limited to:

  • Translate customer needs into detailed control system requirements.
  • Lead the definition, analysis, and allocation of requirements across the various engineering areas of moderately complex systems.
  • Develop the high-level system architecture and perform trade-off analysis for design approaches for moderately complex systems.
  • Plan machine-level system integration and testing approaches and procedures both virtually and physically.
  • Provide technical leadership for moderately complex cross-functional development projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in the field of Systems, Software, Mechanical, Agricultural, Electrical, or Aerospace and eight years of product development experience in software, electronics, hydraulics, system and/or machine controls design. Twelve years of product development experience without an engineering degree. An exceptional candidate will have an engineering master’s degree.
  • Adept in developing electronic/hydraulic/mechanical control systems.
  • Proficient in system engineering methods, modeling, and the ability to mentor a broad team.
  • Strong data-based decision analysis via structure methods (decision, Pugh, and trade space analysis) is essential.
  • Ability to lead system integration and verification planning and execution.
  • Skilled in advanced troubleshooting skills and root cause analysis utilizing FMEA, 8d’s, and 6 sigma tools.
  • Accomplished with model-based system design and agile software development.
  • Experience using Matlab/Simulink, SYSML, Jira, and Dassault 3D Experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of J1939 multiplexed communication and diagnostic protocols.
  • Understanding of industry best practices and standards on system engineering.
  • Utilize solid communication skills with the ability to traverse from low details to broad system context based on the needs of the audience.

Travel

  • Occasional travel is expected of this position.
