As a Financial Analyst, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring sound financial decisions at Google. You'll work on various projects, analyze business scenarios, track performance metrics, and provide insights to leaders for strategic company decisions. You'll be focused on details while tackling big picture challenges and leading projects to transform planning, tracking, and control processes. You'll provide senior management with insightful recommendations and planning & reporting support. This role is within the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) FP&A team, specifically the Capacity Planning Finance team, where you'll advise partner teams on long-term growth projections, manage the infrastructure budget, and create long-range plans for cloud infrastructure requirements. Your work will directly impact the growth and success of Google's rapidly growing cloud business.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or equivalent
  • 7 years of experience in FP&A, consulting, or related function
  • Experience with infrastructure costs for cloud businesses
  • Ability to work with large datasets, build dashboards, and provide insights
  • Excellent problem-solving, investigative, and modeling skills
Good to have:
  • Advanced degree
  • Ability to work in a fluid environment and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Ability to plan, execute, and deliver projects timely and multitask

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), consulting, or a related function, or an advanced degree.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in understanding infrastructure costs for cloud related businesses.
  • Ability to work with and analyze large datasets, building dashboards (Visualization) and provide insights to business partners.
  • Ability to work in a fluid environment and comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Ability to plan, execute and deliver on projects in a timely manner and to multitask on varying projects and initiatives.
  • Excellent problem-solving, investigative and modeling skills, with the ability to work with teams leads to frame issues, structure analyses, and deliver impact.

As someone who knows the workings of the core Finance team inside and out, you'll lead individual projects to transform planning, tracking and control processes. You'll provide senior level management with insightful recommendations, planning and reporting support.

As global compute capacity rapidly shifts to the public cloud, GCP delivers virtualized compute, big data/analytics, and machine learning tools to its customers at an unparalleled scale and speed, exposing Google’s infrastructure to external customers. GCP is one of the fastest growing product areas at Google.

Our Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team supports the Product, Engineering, and Operations teams that build and promote GCP products. Within the Capacity Planning Finance team, we advise our partner teams on long term growth projections for cloud, manage the infrastructure budget for GCP and create Long Range Plans for cloud infrastructure requirements.

From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $108,000-$158,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Forecast infrastructure costs for the cloud business and contribute to monthly and annual planning processes.
  • Collaborate with cloud capacity planning team and work closely with multiple stakeholders to develop the capacity forecast.
  • Create financial models for analyzing CapEx and OpEx trends for various cloud business segments.
  • Influence key strategy decisions on capacity as a  finance partner for cloud capacity leadership.
