As part of our ambitious Gameplay Animation team, you will work alongside industry leaders to set new standards for gameplay animation.

What you will do

  • Lead a talented team of animators in the creation and implementation of character and creature animations within our games.
  • Supervise the animation production pipeline from concept to final in-game integration, ensuring all animated content upholds our high standards for quality and innovation.
  • Collaborate closely with the Gameplay Animation Manager and Studio Animation Director to support and cultivate an environment that fosters growth and excellence within the team.
  • Engage with the animation, as well as other department leads, to ensure a cohesive vision and execution across all aspects of game development.
  • Utilize cutting-edge tools and production methodologies to enhance team efficiency and output.
  • Champion the continuous improvement of our animation processes and systems, driving technical and artistic advancements.

Who You Are

  • An experienced leader in gameplay animation, with a strong emphasis on stylized keyframe animation and a proven ability to deliver exaggerated character animations.
  • Proficient in managing creative teams and projects, demonstrating a knack for mentoring and inspiring animators to achieve their best work.
  • Highly skilled in the nuances of character motion and animation principles, adeptly weaving these skills with game design requirements and technical constraints to enhance gameplay depth and ensure seamless visual execution within the game’s overarching vision.
  • Committed to innovation and excellence, with a thorough understanding of current and emerging animation technologies.
  • Excellent at communication and collaboration, capable of articulating vision and standards to both technical and creative teams.

About The Company

As one of Europe's leading game development studios, Guerrilla has continually pushed the boundaries of technical and artistic excellence since its inception in 2003. Today, the studio employs 400 professionals from 25 different nationalities. Guerrilla was founded as the result of a merger between three smaller Dutch studios: Lost Boys Games, Orange Games and Digital Infinity. In 2005, it was acquired by Sony Interactive Entertainment after the release of Killzone on PlayStation 2. In the decade that followed, Guerrilla expanded Killzone into a successful franchise with a handheld spin-off and three sequels.


Guerrilla's next title, released for PlayStation 4 in 2017 and for PC in 2020, is the critically and popularly acclaimed open world action-RPG Horizon Zero Dawn. The studio released its sequel Horizon Forbidden West in February 2022, with the Burning Shores expansion in 2023. This year, Guerrilla also released the PSVR2 title, Horizon Call of the Mountain.
