Job Description

As Head of Engineering for YouTube Playables, you'll lead the engineering team responsible for developing and delivering innovative gaming experiences on YouTube. You'll contribute to the technical roadmap and long-term investments, assessing launches and major decisions. You'll also be responsible for talent development and recruitment, representing Playables in front of YouTube leadership. This role involves engaging with engine partners and game developers, owning production metrics and performance, and managing technical dependencies with YouTube and Google teams.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
8 years of software development experience
3 years of experience in the Gaming industry
3 years of technical leadership experience
2 years of people management experience

Good to have:

Experience with Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS)
5 years of technical leadership and management of large teams
Understanding of game development for popular platforms (PS3/4, XBox, Android, iOS)

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
3 years of experience in the Gaming industry.
3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience with Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS).
5 years of technical leadership and management of large or multiple teams of managers and software engineers across regions.
Understanding of game development for any of the popular platforms (PS3/4, XBox, Android, iOS), and being a gamer will help.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $237,000-$337,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

Lead engineering for the YouTube Playables organization.
