Role & Responsibilities

• As Head of Game Design, you are a seasoned professional with a deep knowledge and experience in all aspects of game design, from concept to implementation. From a design standpoint, you need no guidance to help ideate innovative gaming product with a solid chance of success.
• You’ll lead game design teams and collaborate closely with senior management and management of other disciplines (developers, artists, mathematicians, and audio personnel) to define the game roadmap, business objectives from the game product standpoint, and ensure that the product meets the defined high standards of quality, implementation efficiency, and technical feasibility.
• You’ll be also responsible for mentoring a team of game designers to adhere to best practices, follow defined processes, and ensure that the game's success is realized through compelling gameplay mechanics, bonus features, and math.
• You’ll need to keep up to date on industry trends, innovative game play mechanics, and new product that launches in both land-based casinos and online; sharing that information with the game design group and applying that knowledge as it relates to defining the product roadmap.
• Additionally, you will lend your creative knowledge outside of the core game design arena, providing input on how other groups within the app can function more synchronously with core game products.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate to define the game product mix, game roadmap planning, and other design related tasks or requests from management.
• Manage and mentor a team of game designers, providing guidance, outlining best practices, goals, support, and performance reviews.
• Effectively communicate business objectives, group objectives, KPIs, etc.
• Help conceptualize and design innovative game mechanics, features, and systems / game flows.
• Evaluate and greenlight proposed game projects.
• Assist when needed to collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate art, sound, math, and programming elements into cohesive gameplay experiences.
• Full responsibility for the game design team’s projects from concept to post-launch, ensuring projects are on time and adhering to the quality standards set by the organization.
• Participate in gameplay testing and provide feedback to the game designers.
• Ability and knowledge in core game balancing, economy, and working with mathematicians.
• Keeping an up-to-date knowledge of market trends, new products, design best practices, and innovations.
• Applying the above to future gaming products while also innovating never before seen products to establish new industry trends.

Requirements:

• At least 8 years of game design experience.
• Proven experience in a senior / lead game design role, with a track record of shipping successful games.
• Strong leadership and project management skills.
• Proficiency with game design tools and software.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Passion for casino (slots) gaming and a deep understanding of game mechanics and player psychology.
• Creative thinker and motivation to tackle business challenges.
• Excellent written communication skills with great attention to detail.
