Infrastructure Partner Data Engineer
Job Summary
As an Infrastructure Partner Data Engineer at YouTube, you'll manage infrastructure solutions powering strategic initiatives like public claims and Ads partner integrations. You'll design and implement medium-scale data pipelines combining internal and external data sources, supporting investigative and data science initiatives. Responsibilities include managing YouTube data feeds, providing technical support to internal partners, ensuring technical aspects of data integrations, identifying new reporting opportunities, and writing and maintaining code for ETL pipelines. You will also incorporate GenAI to improve scale and efficiency. The role requires strong data engineering skills and business acumen to navigate complex requirements involving multiple cross-functional teams.
Must Have
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 3+ years coding experience (Python, C++, etc.)
- 3+ years data infrastructure & modeling experience
- 3+ years designing data pipelines (Flume, DataFlow, Spark)
- Experience with ETL pipelines
Good to Have
- 3+ years experience with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, DataStudio)
- 3+ years stakeholder management experience
- 3+ years project planning and delivery experience
- Machine Learning experience for production workflows
Job Description
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of experience coding in one or more programming languages.
- 3 years of experience working with data infrastructure and data models by performing exploratory queries and scripts.
- 3 years of experience designing data pipelines, and dimensional data modeling for synch and asynch system integration and implementation using internal (e.g., Flume, etc.) and external stacks (DataFlow, Spark, etc.).
Preferred qualifications:
- 3 years of experience with statistical methodology and data consumption tools such as business intelligence tools, collabs, jupyter notebooks, Tableau, Power BI, DataStudio, and business intelligence platforms.
- 3 years of experience partnering with stakeholders (e.g., users, partners, customer), and managing stakeholders/customers.
- 3 years of experience developing project plans and delivering projects on time within budget and scope.
- Experience with Machine Learning for production workflows.

This data will serve as the foundation for various investigative and data science initiatives, providing our cross-functional stakeholders with unique insights and values not found elsewhere. You will also incorporate GenAI into new and existing operations to drive scale and efficiency. You will have data engineering skills and a strong business acumen to navigate the complex requirements involving multiple cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage YouTube data feeds and provide ongoing technical support to internal partners for a wide range of YouTube’s viewership metrics initiatives.
- Provide infrastructure solutions for both external audience measurement partner integrations and internal partner engineering teams.
- Guarantee the technical aspects of YouTube viewership data integrations by providing technical guidance and documentation.
- Identify, drive, and optimize new third-party reporting opportunities by leveraging YouTube technologies.
- Write and maintain lines of code (e.g., Python, C++, etc.) to support Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) pipelines.
