Job Description

Apexon seeks a Java Backend Developer with 7+ years of experience for a dynamic, mission-driven project. Responsibilities include designing and working with n-tier and distributed architectures, developing REST and SOAP services, building multi-module projects, and working with relational databases (Oracle). The role requires strong Spring framework skills (MVC, Boot, Data, Core), experience with application servers (WebSphere, JBoss), unit testing (Jest, Enzyme, or Mocha), and SQL optimization techniques. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and problem-solving skills, be a team player, and have experience with Agile processes and SDLC tools like Jira. Frontend experience (React, Angular, Node.js) is a plus.

Must have:

7+ years Java backend development experience
Strong Spring framework skills

Relational database experience (Oracle)

Role Description:

You’ll be responsible for (Responsibilities):

We are looking to hire a backend Java developer with 7+years of hands-on development experience.
The developer will be working in a dynamic, fast paced and a mission driven project, providing them an opportunity to further learn and enhance their skills while feel proud of the social mission they support. An eligible candidate must have the following skills:

In depth experience designing and working with n-tier architectures (UI, business logic layer, data access layer) as well as experience in distributed architectures using integration hubs such as Data Power, Mule or any ESB’s
Strong skills (Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Spring data, Spring-Core, Spring transactions etc.,) on J2EE Framework and internals of the architecture, including JSP, EJB, servlets, JNDI, JDBC, JMS, JTA transaction services, logging (Log4J), thread management and development of asynchronous java processes
Experience in developing REST and SOAP services using JAX-WS/RS and/or Spring framework.
Experience in building multi module projects, compiling, building, and packaging the source code into Jars, Wars & EARs and deploying them in Application Servers (WebSphere, Jboss etc.,)
Experience in Writing Unit Test Cases with Jest, Enzyme or Mocha
Demonstrates hands-on experience with relational databases (such as Oracle or similar) and display a good understanding of database principles/SQL beyond just data access
Ability to quickly learn new concepts and/or technology
Must have done hands-on development in most recent projects.
Strong communication skills, both written and oral and ability to smoothly interact with development team leadership and clients
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Candidate should be a self-motivated, independent, detail oriented and a team-player

A strong candidate would also be able to demonstrate their competency in the below areas:
Optimize SQL queries for performance including use of indexes, partitioning, and other techniques to improve the performance of queries.
Write complex SQL queries including using joins, subqueries, and other techniques to create queries that extract the desired data from databases.
Troubleshoot and debug SQL problems including using profiling tools to identify performance bottlenecks and using error messages to identify errors in queries.
Frontend development experience – preference to candidates with React or Angular and Node.js
Mentor junior staff and lead technical designs
Ability to perform code reviews and recommend automated review tools for the project
Ability to collaborate with the product, engineering, and business teams to understand the requirements that will form the core foundation for all the future products
Ability to adapt quickly to an existing, complex environment
Passionate about building high-quality systems with software implementation best practices
Project experience in working with Agile processes
Knowledge of SDLC processes and use of application lifecycle management tools such as JIRA, etc.

You’ll have (Qualification & Experience):

Bachelor's Degree in related field is required.
