This role is for a Java Technical Lead/Architect to design and guide a development team in building a Treasury front-end (TFE) platform for a leading Malaysian bank. The platform will integrate markets applications with core banking systems and distribute Treasury products to retail customers via web and mobile apps. Responsibilities include full software development lifecycle participation, collaboration with product owners and engineers, setting project milestones, and ensuring on-time, high-quality releases. The ideal candidate will have extensive Java experience (13+ years), strong architectural skills (4+ years), and proficiency in various technologies (Groovy, Javascript, Typescript, Angular, Vue, React, CSS/SaSS, WPF, NoSQL and relational databases). The role requires a collaborative approach and a willingness to adapt to agile methodologies.

Project description

A leading Malaysian bank is developing a Treasury front-end (TFE) platform to integrate its markets application with core banking systems.
The TFE program is building a centralized platform to distribute Treasury products to retail customers. This platform will be accessible via web and mobile applications. The project is planned in three phases. In the first phase, the bank plans to include FX products, with subsequent phases covering other capital markets products.

Responsibilities

While we see this role as a Java Architect and team lead who will design, and guide the team of developers in the implementation of products built using Genesis Framework, we are also looking for someome who has a clear willingness to be adaptable and flex to learn new ways of working as this will be critical as we seek to remain agile and innovative

You will be a strong collaborator and as you work through the full life cycle of software developement you will also work closely with product owners, UI/UX developers, and core engineers in an iterative process. This will allow you to build knowledge of our business, services, and our customers’ needs

As we work to tight deadlines you will be used to setting project milestones and be responsible for keeping track of the progress which will contribute to wider project success and lead the development team, management, and deliver software releases on time and with the expected capabilities and quality

Have ownership in delivering and maintaining the Web Solutions

Build distributed, highly available, and fault-tolerant applications using Java other technologies

Build large-scale and highly available APIs

both internal and external

Build, deploy, release, and support application in the early stages

Should guide the team on technical aspects along with individual tasks

Skills

Must have

Proven experience in Banking domain

Knowledge seeker: You will have at least 13 years of Java development experience with 4+ years of experience as a Java Architect but at the same time you are constantly learning and looking to expand your knowledge in areas inside and outside of your direct remit.

Collaborative Influencer: Someone who is always looking to collaborate, meet and discuss how things can be improved or how we can work better.

Fearless Technical Expert: You will be have high competence in at least two of Groovy, Javascript, Typescript, Angular, Vue, React as well as CSS/SaSS, WPF. NoSQL database systems (MongoDB, Aerospike, etc.) Relational databases (e.g. Oracle, MS SQL, Postgress).
