Manual Tester / Product Tester Job Description
Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Manual Tester / Product Tester to ensure the quality and functionality of our products before release. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing test cases, identifying bugs, and ensuring that our software or product meets user expectations and business requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, document, and execute test cases based on product requirements.
- Perform manual testing on web, mobile, and desktop applications.
- Identify, report, and track bugs and defects using tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla, Trello).
- Validate bug fixes and perform regression testing.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product managers to understand requirements and improve testing strategies.
- Conduct functional, usability, exploratory, compatibility, and performance testing.
- Ensure product compliance with business needs and quality standards.
- Provide feedback to improve the user experience (UX) and functionality.
- Document test results and create test reports for stakeholders.
- Participate in UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and support release activities.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in manual testing or product testing.
- Strong understanding of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) and STLC (Software Testing Life Cycle).
- Experience in writing test cases, test scenarios, and test plans.
- Familiarity with defect tracking tools like JIRA, TestRail, Bugzilla.
- Basic knowledge of SQL for database validation (preferred).
- Experience testing APIs and mobile applications (preferred but not required).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Certifications (Optional):
- ISTQB Foundation Level Certification
- Certified Software Tester (CSTE)
