Roles & Responsibilities

Overview & Responsibilities:

As a Product Designer at Knit, you'll be a key player in crafting user-centered design solutions that resonate with our target customers. Your role is crucial in bringing our product vision to life and ensuring that our solutions are both intuitive and visually engaging. You'll work closely with the Head of Product and other teams to create designs that enhance user experience and contribute significantly to the success of our platform.

Key performance indicators for this team & role:

• UI/UX Prototype quality and alignment with input from the Head of Product and CTO
• On-time delivery of prototypes, concepts and any work assigned

Primary responsibilities of this role:

• Develop a deep understanding of Knit’s target customer, and internalize Knit’s product vision and strategy
• Develop sitemaps, user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes on Figma, based on input from the Head of Product and CTO
• Rapidly iterate on prototypes and designs based on feedback
• Share prototypes, assets and designs with engineers, ensuring there is no knowledge gap
• Eectively communicate complex concepts, the rationale for design decisions, design ideas, and prototypes to dierent audiences inside and outside of Knit, including developers
• Conduct UX audits and tests to iterate over existing designs and optimize the customer/user experience on a recurring basis
• Provide feedback on existing or newly developed customer/user experiences to the engineering team
• Stay up to date with competitor products, their features, and industry trends in order to incorporate them into the design process

Project Requirements:

Required Skills & Experiences:

• 5+ years of proven experience in UX Design, UI Design, or a similar role. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience designing SaaS products that are data-intensive, for desktop and mobile platforms.
• 1+ year of experience at a market research, customer feedback, or analogous product company.
• Previous experience implementing the design thinking process and a solid grasp of user-centered design (UCD), planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability, and accessibility concerns.
• Has previously worked with or managed developers
• Strong, referenceable portfolio of representative design work and the UX development process
• Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams and clients.
• Proficient in design software like Figma, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, XD.
• BSc in Design, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field (preferred, but not mandatory)
