Job Description

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision and coordination of the maintenance department functions and programs. This role involves directing and coordinating support services, as well as training and developing employees. Key responsibilities include implementing maintenance programs, troubleshooting issues, coordinating with other departments, and leading safety initiatives. The supervisor also performs regular maintenance and repairs on machinery, equipment, and buildings, manages supplies, and maintains records. This position requires strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
Must have:
  • Assists in interviews and hiring processes
  • Orientates and trains maintenance personnel
  • Coaches, counsels employees, and initiates discipline as required
  • Evaluates the performance of subordinates
  • Develops and implements preventative and other maintenance programs
  • Identifies, researches, and resolves problems
  • Coordinates maintenance activities with operating department's requirements
  • Leads employees in continuous improvement and safety initiatives
  • Performs regular/preventative maintenance on all machinery, tools, and buildings
  • Develops, implements, and supervises the plant’s Preventive Maintenance program
  • Repairs machinery, equipment, buildings, and other Company assets
  • Orders supplies and parts as required
  • Maintains records of repair/maintenance activities
  • Prepares other reports as required
  • Performs duties consistent with established safety rules and procedures
  • Communicates and reports to Production Supervisors & Managers
  • Identifies and organizes the work of others, determines priorities, meets deadlines
  • Identifies problems and finds viable solutions
  • Understands and uses basic verbal and written instructions in English
  • Manages personnel and addresses staffing needs
  • Works hours mandated by management
  • Leads by example and has a positive attitude

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists in interviews and hiring processes
  • Orientates and trains maintenance personnel
  • Coaches counsel employees, and initiates discipline as required
  • Evaluates the performance of subordinates
  • Develops and implements preventative and other maintenance programs to ensure proper equipment operation
  • Identifies, researches, and resolves problems
  • Coordinates maintenance activities with the operating department's requirements
  • Leads employees in continuous improvement and safety initiatives
  • Performs regular/preventative maintenance on all machinery, tools, and buildings
  • Develops, implements, and supervises the plant’s Preventive Maintenance program
  • Repairs machinery, equipment, buildings, and other Company assets in accordance with diagrams, operating manuals, and manufacturing specifications, or by management request
  • Orders supplies and parts as required, at competitive pricing and rates
  • Maintains records of repair/maintenance activities, per Company policy
  • Prepares other reports as required
  • Performs duties consistent with established safety rules and procedures
  • Performs other duties as required
  • Communicate /report to Production Supervisors & Mangers to detail progress and improvements.
  • Identify and organizes the work of others, determine priorities., meet deadlines and work under pressure and stress.
  • Identify problems and find viable solutions.
  • Identify to understand and uses basic verbal and written instructions in English: ability read and writ basic English, Bilingual prefer
  • Manages personnel and address staffing needs, and to organize the work of others.
  • Works hours mandated by management.
  • Leads by example and has a positive attitude.

Qualifications

  • Post-high school education is required
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in machine repair and maintenance area; 1 to 3 years of experience managing people
  • Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and control technology, and welding
  • Working knowledge of safe equipment practices and applicable laws, rules, and regulations
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of hazardous wage and hazardous material handling procedures and practices
  • Working knowledge of the use of precision tools, measuring instruments, and other hand tools
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, and other business software
  • Preferred understanding of company policies, practices, and procedures
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
