Manager, Commodity Sourcing (Cost & Market Analysis)

What will you work on?
This role will primarily focus on commodity management. It is responsible for strategic sourcing, managing supplier relationships, supply chain security, supplier measurement, and supplier pricing for the supply base within the commodities assigned. The role will manage multiple commodities.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of product costing structures and be proficient in cost and market analysis to drive strategic sourcing decisions and optimize supply chain efficiency.

How will you create impact?

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for various commodities.
• Monitor commodity trends and market conditions to identify strategic sourcing opportunities.
• Conduct thorough cost and market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
• Manage commodity risks, including price volatility and supply disruptions
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
• Evaluate supplier performance and ensure compliance with contract terms.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure optimal cost, quality, and delivery terms.
• Develop cost-saving initiatives and strategies to improve procurement efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal teams to understand and meet their commodity needs.
• Provide periodic reports on metrics and performance.

What are your skills and experience?

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Commodity Manager or in a similar role, preferably in the paper or resin industry.
• Solid costing experience and sound knowledge in the toy manufacturing industry or related fields is an advantage.
• Knowledge of market trends and industry best practices in resin or paper commodities is preferred.
• Dynamic in material sourcing merchandising.
• Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Displays effective communication skills with all levels of employees, suppliers and management.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong knowledge of product costing structures and cost analysis techniques.
• Experience with strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management.
• Familiar with Excel operation.
• Good command of spoken written English Chinese.
